IT Support Specialist

Our client is looking for a IT Support Specialist with solid communication, organization, and technical skills to help support our rapidly growing internal user base.

About the role

The IT Support Specialist works efficiently with users to identify root cause of issues with hardware, software, and IT services, and resolve those issues quickly. This will include

Fielding requests for access to hardware, software, internal resources (such as printers, file shares, and other enterprise services), as well as inquiries regarding the best process for accomplishing business goals within our IT environment, and direct these as appropriate (including to other teams)

  • Communicating clearly and professionally through email, on the phone, and in-person
  • Tracking all issues (both requests and incidents) in our ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Triaging new tickets, referring more complex issues or configuration requests to Tier 2/3
  • Supporting IT services including, but not limited to, printing, office telephones, projectors, and network access
  • Building, configuring, and deploying user computers, phones, and accessories; tracking deployment in ServiceNow
  • Creating and/or updating team-internal and user-facing documentation as required
  • Assisting in developing new IT processes and automation to address evolving business requirements; includes taking on longer projects with minimal supervision
  • Manage stock within physical stock rooms, as well as tracking in ServiceNow
  • Setting up, monitoring, and solving problems for audio-visual systems during company meetings and speaker events, including web-casting where required, using established processes

Who you are

  • You have 2 years of experience troubleshooting a wide spectrum of issues in a high-volume, mixed (Windows, Apple or Linux) user environment.
  • You have a passion for helping people and solving problems!
  • You have excellent customer service and teamwork skills!
  • You have organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to manage user expectations appropriately.
  • You have the ability to manage tickets, work, and time with minimal supervision.
  • You have fluency in PC hardware and software installation, configuration, and solving problems.
  • You have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • You have solid analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of all recent versions of Microsoft Windows OS and Office applications
  • You have experience supporting Apple products
  • You have experience maintaining corporate IT services like DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.
  • You have scripting experience, particularly in PowerShell
