Job Description: This position is responsible for the daily computer and business application support to on-site and remote users. This role also serves as an escalation point for more complex issues and services.


Responsibilities


Lead role on more complex and/or mission critical solutions


Responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop and laptop computers, peripheral equipment, software, and mobile devices as well as other assigned projects


Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies


Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error


Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for more complex user problems, referring most difficult problems to supervisor or technical staff


Logs and tracks calls and maintains history records and related problem documentation


Calls software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products


Writes or revises user training manuals and procedures


Provides guidance to team members


Trains users on software and hardware on-site or via web conferencing


Responsible for ensuring asset records are accurate and up-to-date


Requirements


Associate degree or equivalent experience, Industry certifications a plus


4+ years' experience in a hardware/software support role on both desktop and laptop PCs


In depth knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems


Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365


Good customer service skills, both oral and written


Strong analytical and judgment skills


Ability to identify and communicate root cause of network, software, and printing problems


Ability to quickly learn and support new technologies and applications


Able to complete multiple tasks with minimal direction


Able to follow directions and work independently, as well as part of a team


Able to resolve LAN, WAN and VPN network connection issues and possesses an understanding of networking concepts
