PwC IT is responsible for aligning IT with the business on the delivery of its strategic priorities. It will do this by building strategic global capabilities, enabling transformational efforts, embedding quality in all systems and processes and delivering the PwC experience. PwC IT is seeking a seasoned project or program manager (PM) to support the IT Programme Leader in driving the implementation of these global strategic initiatives through the following key responsibilities:


- Plan and manage the implementation of projects or program components, and ensure high quality delivery within scope, budget, and schedule without losing sight of the project's business goals.


- Ensure identification and full integration of all workstreams and dependencies, which may be performed by globally dispersed team members, and which encompass technical, business process, and organisational change readiness work.


- Communicate timely project information, issues, risks, or status to the various stakeholders through appropriate methods and channels.This position reports to the Global IT PMO.


The ideal candidate will have 12 or more years of technology experience, of which at least 8 solid years or more are in project or program management practice.Working environment: very complex, globally distributed organisation on multiple timezones, with diverse, multi-cultural stakeholders. As such, travel as well as adjustments to working hours may be required from time to time.In performing these key responsibilities, the Senior PM is expected to adhere to the Global IT Project Framework and apply best practices in the knowledge areas of project management as follows:


o Integration Management: o Identify, analyze, and synchronize all cross functional and global integration and communication touchpoints for the project. o Manage project changes.o Address or escalate issues that may impact the successful outcome of the project.


Scope, schedule, and cost management


The most fundamental of PM disciplines which include the following responsibilities:o Establish and manage project and product scope boundaries.o Establish credible schedules with effort-based, resourced tasks or activities, regularly statused, with managed critical path.o Establish and manage time-phased project budget with regular variance analysis and re-forecasting.


Resource Management: Manage and motivate project staff, allocate appropriate people to project roles, taking into consideration all the complexities of working on a major global project with a diverse team. Some specific tasks include:o Understand the expertise required by the project, acquire these resources externally (following PwC resourcing procedures) or internally (working with IT Programme Leader, Development Leader, and Quality Assurance Leader).o Manage complex resourcing issues that accompany shared or non-dedicated resources, matrixed resources or resources with no direct reporting relationship.o Manage virtual teams with a mixture of onshore and offshore team members, and diverse cultural backgrounds.


Risk management - identify and assess risks, develop risk response plans based on impact and probability of occurrence. When necessary, exercise quantitative risk assessments on critical risks.- Communication and Stakeholder management o Establish and execute a communication plan that considers the information needs of the team, key stakeholders and others who have a vested interest in the project. o Apply stakeholder management techniques to address resistance and gain support for the project.o Adhere to PwC project governance reporting requirements.


Quality management: Adopt appropriate project quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement activities throughout the project life cycle. o Seek and incorporate project lessons learned during the project initiation and planning process.o Establish quality criteria to which the project deliverables must adhere.o Identify and correct process issues during the execution phase.o Ensure timely project and post-project reviews are conducted.o Ensure the project's best practices and lessons learned are documented and shared across PwC IT.


Procurement responsibilities - when the acquisition of third party services, solutions, or solution components is required:o Facilitate the development of RFIs, RFPso Facilitate vendor evaluation and selection process o Facilitate contract developmento Adhere to or execute relevant contract provisions related to project management.In addition, the Senior Project Manager is expected to contribute to the continuous improvement and maturation of the Global IT Project Framework, as well as to mentor other team members and PMO staff.


Professional Qualifications


- Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BA, BS) or equivalent experience


- PMI PMP certification preferred; PgMP a big plusKnowledge


- Knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding technologies used in large global organisations with complex and distributed operating environments


.- Expertise in multiple project life cycle methodologies used with technical projects, such as:o SDLC (waterfall, RUP, Agile, etc) in application development or COTS implementations.
