IT Metrics and Reporting Analyst

job summary:

Company is looking to add a reporting analyst to assist end users with KPIs and reporting. Role includes, gather reporting needs, dashboard requirements, research where data resides, and developing reports.

The IT Metrics and Reporting Analyst is responsible for a set of activities that are performed to plan, design, deliver, operate and control information technology (IT) services offered in support of the company's goals. It is concerned with developing business and system metrics and producing internal client success reports, updates, and system/business/financial dashboards that will provide transparency, confidence, and the right information at the right time. This will allow us to pivot quickly to respond to the internal client needs and to the needs of the business. It will also be a value-add to our clients for improved project reporting. This position is supported through a set of detailed practices known as ITIL [Information Technology Infrastructure Library]. The IT Metrics and Reporting Analyst is responsible for working within each of these ITIL Processes: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Consult with internal customers to understand their report requirements and provide comprehensive and meaningful solutions to address their needs.

-Develop and report data from the based upon requirements and criteria provided.

-Deliver training for internal teams and customers to demonstrate the use of reporting application.

-Lead and manage data import and reporting services projects.

-Assist with report migration initiatives.

-Guide internal support teams to solve reporting related issues.

-Work with customers to move their data/reports from current locations/applications to centralized locations/applications.

-Organize and present data gathered from internal systems and resources.

-Supports the continued improvement and generation of metrics to maintain appropriate measurements of applicable services.

-Facilitate communication between the CPM and its clients in order to define and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

-Ability to partner with SME's to identify, create, design and deliver reporting solutions that benefit IT as a whole.

-Delivers lasting win-win solutions between CPM and other teams within company, to increase customer satisfaction, decrease costing and improve services.

-Review and analyze data to identify patterns, trends or issues.

-Ability to make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law.

-Actively demonstrates creative thinking by proposing innovative concepts and technology solutions.

-Ability to work in a team/group setting and collaborate by providing transparency in performance results.

-Professionally exercises discretion and independent judgment in day-to-day work.

-Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SSAE16 SOC 1 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 Service Organization Controls 1), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission, Energy and Operating Reserve Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board)

-Complete all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

-5+ years relevant work experience required or related technical experience related to IT operations support, including systems and networking, performance, and availability monitoring and analysis preferred.

-Experience working with any reporting application (required).

-Demonstrated success with project management.

-Excellent verbal and written communication.

-Proven ability to perform analytical tasks with minimal supervision.

-Ability to organize, plan and prioritize assignments within multiple projects.

-Keen analytical and problem solving skills.

-Excellent customer facing skills.

-Previous energy industry experience (preferred)

-ITIL Foundations Certification (preferred).

*Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES:

Technical Capabilities - Must also be proficient with the following:

-Knowledge of principles, practices, and administration of IT technical issues

-Ability to present complex data to groups of internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.

-Ability to develop automated, re-usable routines for analyzing, extracting, and presenting requested information from database systems

-Experience with monitoring techniques and protocols

-Ability to present complex data to groups of internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.

-ITIL process understanding (certifications preferred)

-Must have the ability to understand the application, infrastructure, and critical facility portfolio at company in order to evaluate performance and capacity risk

-In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles

-In-depth knowledge of business operation's performance objectives and strategies.
