The Infrastructure Team forms part of the Information Technology Department, and is responsible for the global engineering and support of every core infrastructure platform.

The ideal candidate will be an articulate, business facing infrastructure analyst, able to problem solve whilst under pressure, and bring with them a genuine interest in technology. The ability to context switch between tasks effectively, and prioritize multiple issues at once will be required.

A college degree in a suitable scientific field (Computer Science, Maths, Physics etc.) is preferred.

  • Work as part of a globally distributed support and engineering groups, providing 1 st & 2 nd line support for infrastructure platforms across desktop workstations, VDI, telephony, audio visual equipment and server hardware, both locally and to remote branch offices
  • Drive issues through to resolution where possible, handing off to relevant 3 rd line staff when required
  • Monitoring of global systems, network links, virtualized platforms and application health through shared dashboards, resolving operational issues where possible, or escalating to SME's where appropriate
  • Assist in strategic infrastructure project initiatives, supporting deployments from the front line through handover from project teams, where needed
  • Use critical thinking to constantly challenge the 'status quo' of their infrastructure systems and platforms in both tactical and strategic ways, raising the quality of service of their platforms and systems
  • Ensuring data backups and DR arrangements are running, and up to date, in accordance with corporate data protection and retention policies
  • Liaise with external service providers in the provision of equipment and application support as needed
  • Creation and deployment of Windows application packages through appropriate packaging tools and Microsoft SCCM
  • Performing user training and IT system inductions during staff on-boarding
  • Providing out-of-hours emergency support on a rota basis in response to critical infrastructure issues and urgent user requests
  • Provide support to the Application Development teams on infrastructure issues affecting either vendor provided and proprietary software
  • Manage, maintain and support mechanical and engineering equipment through appropriate support & maintenance vendors (including structured cabling within the office environment, air conditioning maintenance and UPS servicing)
  • Any other duties relevant to the operational support of infrastructure systems, as required by management
  • Must have MS Operating Systems experience
  • Must have Active Directory management experience
  • VMWare knowledge (doesn't have to be a deep understanding)
  • Ability to work independently (this person will be the sole IT person in the Stamford office so in addition to the analyst role, he/she has to be willing to doesn't mind doing support as needed)
