Job Summary
Leads IT teams towards rapid restoration of Critical Applications, Services & Components that Support the Enterprise and its ability to do business. Gains knowledge of defined business and technical processes. Utilizes all sources of information both internal and external to conduct research, data collection, utilizing a variety of monitoring tools; troubleshoots, diagnoses, and analyzes data to resolve issues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Actively participates in the daily operational activities that impact important components / processes of the of the IT work function, and may include responsibilities, such as:
    • Execution of deployment operations to monitor and improve on pre-release, upgrades and current versions of software.
    • Evaluating compatibility of programs with existing hardware and/or software features.
    • Development of protocols to support established standards.
    • Improving operation and monitoring of advanced or complex features.
    • Development of processes and interface requirements.
    • Data development and definition of acceptance criteria.
  • Gathers and updates necessary information and communicates to appropriate parties.
  • Utilizes experience in order to identify problematic relationships. Anticipates, prevents and eliminates problems and creates efficient fixes. Facilitates elimination of problems and roadblocks before they occur.
  • Works cross-functionally to accomplish assignments. Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.
  • Mentors less experienced members of the team.
  • May assist in live site support and incident resolution that may include on-call rotation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar OR High School Diploma / GED and at least 6 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar.
  • Experience in Technology infrastructure, such as Network, Monitoring, Systems, Databases, etc.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working on multiple IT projects simultaneously.
  • Determines appropriate work procedure or approach to address technical challenges.
  • Creates technical specification and preforms technical analysis for multiple projects.
  • Utilizes all sources of information both internal and external to conduct research, data collection, utilizing a variety of monitoring tools, and procedures; verify and validates data collected; analyzes, synthesizes and summarizes data to draw conclusions.
  • Gains knowledge of a set of defined business and technical processes in terms of how these impact and interact with the work product (e.g., infrastructure component, application, software tool) being developed/enhanced.
  • Identifies options to address problems or issues, defines advantages and disadvantages of each option, and either selects from predefined solutions or recommends an innovative approach.
  • Identifies patterns in systems issues and raise to next level management.
  • Researches, plans, troubleshoots, maintains software interfaces. Analyzes and evaluates present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs. May make appropriate recommendations as to best approach.
  • Publishes and distributes the technical specification document, service-catalogues, and ensures proper sign-off on document(s). Also controls all changes through a formalized change request process.
  • Creates moderately complex models to identify, validate, document system issues.
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • 1-3 years experience in using SAP apps/modules (i.e Hana, Basis, Sol Man), OS and hardware with knowledge of specific requirements of varied SAP models.
  • Knowledge in Java(JVM) applications garbage collection, heap and physical memory.
  • Knowledge in Unix, Linux performance and tuning via various stat commands. (vmstat, nfsstat, iostat etc…)
  • Knowledge in network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and tuning.
  • Experience utilizing industry monitoring tools, Tivoli, Foglight, Checkpoint and SMARTS to diagnose, analyze, and perform trend analysis of application, and other system components.
