Your Team: Learning Engineering

We're creating a disruptive, competency-based, adaptive set of tools and services to power the best brands in education. The Learning Engineering Team (LE) is responsible for working directly with our clients, product teams and internal partners to design and deliver great learning experiences using our suite of learning tools.

Your Role: Learning Engineering Edtech

You are part of a growing Learning Engineering team that engages and collaborates with clients.

In this hands-on role you are an all around tech-savvy whiz, possess solid LMS experience in higher education, media production skills (especially writing and basic graphic design), and foundational instructional design knowledge. You will stay informed of changing educational technologies, be committed to details, and be able to manage your time to project deadlines without excuse. You value clear, timely communication and effective collaboration while working cross-functionally within (Learning Objects) LO and with CL, as well as directly with college administrators, vendors, and contractors.

What will you do?

  • Serves as dedicated team course builder and expert and third-party product integration with a variety of LMSs and other potential apps to achieve a successful student online course experience

    • maintains familiarity and proficiency in all relevant and industry-standard technology platforms to facilitate LMS integration
    • builds and maintains relationships with internal and external resources and stakeholders to guarantee efficient workflows
    • following direction of Learning Engineers builds or revises demos, training courses, and courses in and prototypes for internal or external clients, including potentially using in their designated LMS
    • communicates/translates client's technology specifications to the LE/production team
    • creates and maintains necessary processes, procedures, and documentation pertinent to the success of the role and in support of the team's mission

  • Effectively manages time and work quality according to the expectations of projects

    • ensures deliverables meet high quality standards (such as by conducting quality assurance tests for courses, etc.)
    • attacks problem solving with tenacity and efficiency when researching and deciphering technical issues that benefit the user experience
    • works under sometimes very tight timeframes while maintaining quality
    • communicates regularly and openly with the project team on status, challenges, and risks
    • actively participates in meetings pertinent to the success of the team and related projects
    • recognizes the ebb and flow nature of project work and responds with a flexible, positive attitude

  • Provides design input as it relates to the technology

    • recommends design improvements that better support how products are integrated
    • researches and recommends and/or uses common digital learning design tools to support the design of custom curriculum

  • Travel approximately 15% of your time

What do we need from you?

Basic (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • 3+ years of experience designing/building online courses in a leading commercial LMS in a post-secondary environment
  • Identify web accessibility requirements in online course delivery
  • Work effectively on remote teams
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and effective presentations, procedures and processes
  • Demonstrated multimedia production capability and experience
  • Provide clear and effective training on use of technology to users
  • Demonstrated commitment to a consultative and iterative approach to client satisfaction
  • Diligent and creative problem solver
  • Responsive, clear and concise communicator
  • Ability to prioritize work quickly and manage priorities
  • Intermediate use of Word, basic use of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate use of digital learning technology including web conferencing, video editing, web design, JSON, XML, CSS, HTML/5, or interaction design


  • Certifications or coursework in educational technology, instructional design, software/programming, project management
  • 5+ years of experience working in higher education, publishing, LMS management, or related
  • Advanced use of at least two of Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, D2L, or other top LMS
  • 1+ years working as a remote employee
  • Specific knowledge of integrating third party digital products
  • Advanced use of Word, intermediate use of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate to advanced use of e-learning development tools such as Storyline and Captivate
  • Advanced skills in digital learning technology including web conferencing, video editing, web design, JSON, XML, CSS, HTML/5, or interaction design
