Job Title - Infrastructure Technician


Duration - On-going Contract


Rate - DOE


Location - NYC/Long Island


1. Demonstrated ability to work directly and communicate with a Project Manager on a variety of projects large or small by:


a. determining the number of technicians and/or types of additional technical resources required to successfully complete the project.


b. attending and providing feedback of project meetings in lieu of the Project Manager's attendance.


c. developing daily workloads, for site-specific technician teams.


d. tracking and reporting project budgets, e.g., labor hours used; project materials consumed or needed; etc.


e. assisting the Project Manager, with the estimation of Change Orders


2. Successfully works in harmony with General Contractors and other project trades to ensure the timely completions of all project milestones:


a. Coordination between trades such as electrical, furniture and carpet installation when needed to ensure project completion and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise in real time


b. The ability to work both in new or existing client office environments


3. Demonstrated leadership qualities:


a. Always leading by example on every job site, very detailed oriented.


b. Takes ownership and pride in every facet of the project.


c. Can lead a team of cable and apprentice technicians to resolve issues and satisfy projects timelines.


d. Mentoring cable and/or apprentice technicians


4. Posses all technical knowledge to complete projects:


a. The ability to read and mark-up customer provided architectural floor plans with copper and fiber cable rough-in; labeling; rack dressing; terminations; and, testing to meet all specific customer standards.


b. Can successfully terminate all copper and fiber cable using industry standards.


c. Can properly test all cables via Fluke Networks [or equivalent] copper/fiber cable tester/analyzer.


d. LAN rack: assembly; grounding; cable runways; cable tray; etc.


e. Extending carrier POTS; T1; cable TV circuits, etc.


Preferred Optional Qualifications:


Demonstrated written and verbal skills.


Readily available for off-hour assignments.


Capable of operating with minimal supervision.


Experience with racking, stacking power-up of network hardware.


Valid driver's license and vehicle.


Fiber and copper certifications such as Commscope, Corning, etc.


Familiar with BICSI Structured Cable Systems Standard's requirements.
