Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

EIS is part of Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk organization and is led by the Chief Information Security Officer.

Job Description:

Note: The preferred work location in the Charlotte, NC area but will consider any core Wells Fargo location and telecommute.

This Information Security Engineer 5 (ISE5) role is on the Cyber Security Innovation team within the Cyber Threat Management group and will share responsibility in supporting one or more cyber threat tools. This position will work closely with the CTM leadership team, technical partners, and business groups to develop solutions and Cyber Threat tools and innovations for the enterprise. This role will be accountable for developing and documenting tools and services that support cyber threat management initiatives. The position will support large-scale enterprise technical projects with high visibility and will help automate activities between CTM, CTFC, and other EIS teams.

This position will also be enlisted at times to assist incident responders to determine the risk and impact of a security threat, and possible mitigation strategies. This position will help provide crucial metrics associated with our ability to discover and react to security threats.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Demonstrated ability to work with open source tools and applications.

Demonstrated ability to understand, engineer, and deploy common large, networked, high-speed file systems.

Demonstrated ability to understand common distributed full-text search technologies.

Demonstrated ability to develop code that will ingest and correlate data at high rates.

Demonstrated ability to work across multiple information security domains.

Strong technical engineering background across multiple core technologies. (OS, Application, Database, Virtual/Cloud, etc)

Required Qualifications

7+ years of information security applications and systems experience2 + years of architecture, engineering experience, or a combination of both, with distributed storage and processing technologies2 + years of architecture, engineering experience, or a combination of both, with distributed full-text search technologies3 + years of Unix or Linux administration experience

Desired Qualifications

Advanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policiesAbility to manage complex issues and develop solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge and understanding of data visualization Engineering and architecture experience with big data

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Hands on development experience with either Java, Perl, Python, C+
  • Strong Windows OS background
  • Data Correlation background
  • Threat Intelligence and threat detection experience
  • Video game coding background
  • Browser plugin development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop code that will ingest and correlate data at high rates
