job summary:

Our client in the Round Rock/Austin Area is looking to fill a 12 week contract position for a Help Desk role. This person will be the primary contact for the client, providing assistance, tech support, and training to end users on the operation, and use of application software and workstation hardware.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone support to end-users via the District's Technology Information Services Help Desk.
  • Actively monitor and manage Help Desk requests for technical support.
  • Perform analysis on and triage all incoming incidents, service requests to ensure maximal first call resolution and/or proper escalation actions.
  • Escalate tickets to appropriate group as needed.
  • Use knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) functions to troubleshoot and resolve network access problems.
  • Troubleshoot and provide resolution and support to District staff for software application programs.
  • Troubleshoot and provide problem resolution for printing and peripheral problems at a stand-alone workstation level and also at the network level.
  • Provide assistance to campuses/departments as requested.
  • Assist IT with ongoing projects as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Helpdesk Ticketing System.
  • Knowledge of basic networking including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Wireless technology.
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in technology.
  • Skill in providing customer service.
  • Skill in verbal and written communications.
  • Skill in computer troubleshooting.
  • Skill in training personnel in use of computer applications.
  • Skill in researching/recommending user personal computer software needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
