Head of Design Creative Team

The Creative team is responsible for the planning, production, and distribution of marketing materials in support of our sales efforts across multiple distribution channels and countries. We are strategic partners with our peers in the sales organization and portfolio management, and we collaborate with them to create marketing campaigns and tactics targeted at specific segments of our audience. The Head of Design will lead a team of designers in setting the design direction, evolving our visual identity, and producing published materials in support of these efforts. Working closely with Creative's Editorial and Digital teams, the Head of Design will be responsible for meeting production, process, and compliance requirements, while pushing the Design team to produce best-in-class designs that are creative, thoughtful, and effective. In addition the Head of Design will collaborate with our partners around to world to ensure global standards and processes.


  • Develop and drive creative vision for the clients visual identity across all mediums (print and digital)
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor New York Design team
  • Build consensus among our internal partners from sales and portfolio management and develop creative design solutions to complex problems
  • Collaborate with Editorial and Digital teams to increase synergies, reduce timelines, and produce best-in-class deliverables
  • Understand the scope and business reasons for a projects; translate business needs to design requirements
  • Build and improve processes, including looking for opportunities to leverage automation and digital workflow
  • Provide guidance and support to Design teams around the world; Develop and evolve processes to facilitate the sharing of work and ideas globally
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the design team
  • Ensure adherence to all process and compliance requirements
  • Manage the quarterly update cycle for the design team


  • Exceptional design abilities with a background in translating complex ideas to simple designs
  • Strong leadership skills; the ability to inspire and direct others
  • Courage. Comfortable with presenting to senior management and challenging their assumptions
  • An deep understanding of branding and visual identity and their practical applications
  • The ability to design for print and digital including web, email, and user experience design
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Process and compliance focus
  • Strategic perspective; takes initiative; team player
  • Strong problem solving and critical-thinking skills; creative solutions orientation
  • Strong organizational/project-management skills with the ability to multitask


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in the graphic design field, working with internal or external clients
  • 5+ years leading design teams
  • Experience working for financial services or professional services firms desired but not required
  • Experience managing design and printing projects with a deep knowledge of print (production, prepress, offset and digital printing)

Must be detail oriented and willing to review and check work carefully
