The Global Financial Investigations Unit (GFIU) EMEA team is seeking a detail oriented, highly motivated financial crimes investigator to join the London based GFIU team. This position will report directly to the Regional GFIU Manager and will play a critical role within the Wells Fargos Global Financial Crimes Enterprise Program.

Duties include:

  • Detailed analysis of unusual transactions referred by Business Units, manual or automated monitoring systems.
  • Investigative research, root cause analysis regarding financial crimes transactions, and/or suspicious transactions with moderate to high risk.
  • Monitor account activity and transactions for customers under the EMEA area of responsibility.
  • Identification of unusual transactions impacting the U.S. and/or other Regional GFIUs.
  • Investigation of terrorist financing and AML cases.
  • Preparation of special research projects and other analytical reports.
  • Completion of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to meet regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer(s) as required.
  • Interaction with Relationship Managers, etc. regarding unusual transactions.
  • Utilize a wide range of technology and programs to conduct investigations.
  • Strict adherence to approved GFIU Investigative Procedures.
  • Provide input regarding development and delivery of a wide range of training for GFIU Team Members.
  • Understanding of AML/TF Laws and Regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Regional GFIU Manager as directed
