job summary:

Our client is looking for an Epic Analyst for a Direct Hire opportunity in Sacramento, CA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associate or bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Experience working with healthcare information systems.

-Experience working with clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.

- Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems that results in development, testing, and implementation of appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.

-Experience supporting interfaced/integrated multi-vendor applications.

- Experience implementing and supporting electronic medical records.

-Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operational practices and principles.

- Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal, communication, and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and

- Productive working relationships.

- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, support, and work collaboratively with users of all professional and technical levels.

- Applies appropriate methods and tools to the systems development life cycle.

-Knowledge of quality tools and experience in business or clinical process improvement initiatives.

-Participation in an implementation of an activity or strategy in a department, hospital or clinical system environment.

- Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Academic institution or large integrated health system experience preferred.

- Experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle workflows and applications.

-Experience being liaison between IT personnel and users to resolve issues and recommend system and process changes.

- Synthesizes knowledge of business operations and end-user requirements to improve or develop system design and training projects.

-Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.

EXPECTATIONS:

- Demonstrates working knowledge and the intricacies of the Epic application for the Revenue cycle Information Systems applications.

- Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and system design standards, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data and identify financial business impacts for the Revenue Cycle Information Systems applications.

- Ability to learn assigned applications and meet proficiency testing requirements, and to maintain Epic certification in assigned applications.

Job Duties:

Systems Analysis:

  • Works on complex initiatives to analyze patient care and revenue workflows in various departments to develop and define solutions for improved system integration and functionality.
  • Designs, develops, and implements Epic functionality to meet strategic needs of the organization, and complex cross-departmental needs, based on the organization's overall guiding principles.
  • Performs needs assessment (identification of functional and system requirements) for complex workflows, customers, and/or areas and coordinates analysis of Epic related documentation and workflows in departments, and designs system components to support appropriate related workflows.
  • Utilizes appropriate product development models (design, build, validate, test, other), principles and techniques in Epic system development, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • Evaluates user requests for special enhancements to Epic applications.
  • Designs, tests, implements and evaluates information systems for the organization to ensure successful implementation of Epic enhancments, projects and ongoing support, and a highly productive work force.
  • Analyzes current documentation and data flows in departments and designs Epic to reflect appropriate workflow and requirements.
  • Troubleshoots escalated issues up to moderate complexity and scope with clinical software, hardware, operating systems and/or distributed clinical information systems.
  • Develops Epic system functionality and tools to meet organizational, regulatory and department needs, in collaboration with end user departments.
  • Participates in the Epic training program, including re-training and maintaining certification as updates and modifications occur.
  • Incorporates information system standards and operational standardization in accordance with administrative/operational strategies.
  • Assigns maintenance of the integrity of Epic master files and patient data, as appropriate and in accordance with law.
  • Participates in upgrade, project, and enhancement Go Live support, which may include working evenings, nights, and extended hours.
  • Participates in on-call support rotation, including carrying a pager and adhering to policy regarding availability and response times.
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure continued growth, development, and ability to assist with leading the organization and staff into the future with the development of technology trends.
  • Designs and conducts user training in Epic workflows and processes at all levels of complexity.
  • Assists in developing effective tools and aids for system training.
  • Participates in personal professional development opportunities.
