Your Role and Responsibilities

Job role description: Associate Application Administrator

The infrastructure running government agencies are quickly changing as the world's relationship with technology evolves. Ready to help our clients take the next step forward?

Companies have more choices than ever before between on-premise, off-premise, or a hybrid approach. As an Associate Infrastructure Specialist, youll be responsible for keeping up with the latest changes, using your expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our clients and products

Work you could do as an Associate Application Developer:

  • Designing, building, testing and supporting technical solutions
  • Developing advanced skills in technologies such as Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, SAP, AWS, Azure, and Oracle, among others
  • Define, analyze and review technical architecture on required platform and coming up with architecture options and recommendations
  • Define, detail, and scope the technical requirements into solutions
  • Work across key activities in configuration, systems management tools and backup and recovery
  • Support Technical Consultants and lead in building solutions and providing technical mentoring and guidance


  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, technology-based consulting environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to adapt, with the willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems, which often extend beyond initial scope of responsibility
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, while maintaining focus in an environment with conflicting demands
  • Initiative to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills
  • Possess a strong operational knowledge of applicable operating systems, application programs, system diagnostics and remote support structure
  • Familiarity with various cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, IBM, Google, Alibaba, Oracle
  • Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply by listening actively and conveying difficult messages in a positive manner
  • A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view
  • A degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Decision Sciences, and other related fields of study, particularly where application management is required
  • The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Rocket Center, WV center including a variety of Federal Government clients. No remote opportunities exist
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain required Government security clearance as needed to support assignments

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology
  • Internship or one year experience in Application Administration
