Permanent position: Fortune 500 company who manufactures products and provides engineering services is looking for an Engineering Manager responsible for developing new software products for automation technologies. This role is located in Houston, Texas and qualified candidates must have at least 3 years experience of product design and software development.

Responsibilities for the Engineering Manager

  • Responsible for developing new software products for Automation Technologies and supervising activities of the software design personnel
  • Develop schedules and design plan for software projects including development and cost reduction
  • Approve software documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Mentor early career employees and provide guidance and technical support
  • Must contribute technically on the development on PC side and understand code/PC interface

Requirements for the Engineering Manager

  • Must have BS in Electrical Engineering or computer science. Master's degree is a plus
  • Must have a minimum of two years experience-preferably 5 years in professional people management experience
  • Must have proven track record of product design and a minimum of 5 years development project management
  • Must have experience with process industry protocols of Modbus, HART, AS-i, Profibus DP
  • Experience inthe valve, actuator industry is preferred
  • Must be able to travel 25%
