Permanent position: Immediate opportunity for an electro-mechanical design engineer in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience with fluid mechanics, specifically fluid distribution systems, and strong SolidWorks design experience. Only local candidates, or candidates willing to relocate themselves to the Orlando area will be considered.

Responsibilities for the Electro-Mechanical Engineer
  • Use of Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Heat Transfer to properly design and size systems
  • P&ID and 3D design of systems based on customer specs and engineering standards
  • System calculations for pumps, blowers, control valves, and relief valves to properly size and design systems
  • Responsible for design logic including hands on system flow and control testing on all assigned projects
  • System calculations for pumps, blowers, control valves, relief valves, etc to properly size and design systems
  • Responsible for design logic including hands on system flow and control testing for all responsible projects
  • Shop package creation for in-house testing, assembly, and manufacturing
  • Technical writing in the form of O&M manuals, FATs, work instructions, reports, and engineering procedures
  • Process improvement through creation of company procedures including Engineering Document Approval, Engineering Document Approval Checklist, and Engineering Specification Review
  • 3D design of structures based on customer drawings and specifications
  • Weld and Feature Map creation for manufacturing and assembly
  • Formation of prefab, machining, and assembly packages for manufacturing parts and assemblies
  • Use of nesting software to create nests for Plasma, Laser, and Water Jet cutting tables
  • Creation of technical dispositions for nonconforming parts (NCRs) and implementation of corrective actions
  • Experience with high dimensional tolerances including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Manages all employees of the department and be responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that departmentRequirements for the Electro-Mechanical Engineer

    • Knowledge of fluid mechanics principles used to properly size and design systems including pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, pressure drop, flow of liquid and gas systems
    • Excellent proficiency with Solidworks
    • Proficient with AutoCAD and Siemens NX
    • Experienced using Microsoft Project for managing project schedules
    • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office
    • Experience and proficiency using Unipoint software for NCR creation and disposition
    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Electrical EngineeringBenefits
