The addition of a new Development Center to our global Product Development and Engineering network will bring new and exciting opportunities with our expansion into electronics systems and innovation, and on advanced development work including integrated design, development prototype, and function & durability validation. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will design electrical/electronic testing processes/systems and perform tests ensuring successful conclusion of all phases (field or lab) in support of equipment product development.

Responsibilities include:

Determine, select and implement technically feasible and economically viable alternatives for sustainment

Analyze and evaluate how to improve system and/or equipment's sustainability under continued operation, maintenance and unexpected change

Analyze and review electrical architecture for troubleshooting, validation, and root cause analysis

Collect and evaluate test data and synthesizes into report. Understand and use data to support the development team to resolve operational issues and introduce new design modifications

Evaluate test specification and process for opportunities to revise and improve

Conduct root cause analyses of in-service problems (e.g., operational hazards (homologation), test reports, parts obsolescence, corrosion effects, reliability and maintainability trends, safety hazards, and failure causes and effects) and implement corrective action

Perform benchmarking against competitors equipment (performing tests on competitor equipment in order to measure differences)

Debug and troubleshoot failed (total vehicle components) electronic components, assemblies and mechanical, electrical and software systems using test equipment and schematics

Support troubleshooting of issues as they may occur from electrical and software viewpoints. This includes hands on vehicle work with diagnostic equipment and tools

Identify and resolve issues that adversely affect test yields

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to establish production test plans and processes, and design revisions or modifications

Contribute to Software and System engineering Design/Development activity and related problem solving

Compile and maintain test-related documentation including test plans, procedures, results and reports

Maintain calibration of test equipment

Be an active member of design review, DFMEA, risk assessment and other technical meetings

Manage workload and prioritization of assigned projects according to direct manager's input

The qualified candidate will have:

Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Agricultural)

Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience with electrical/electronic systems (on/off road heavy equipment (internship and co-op experience will be considered))

Minimum of 3 years' experience in vehicle testing (lab or field)

Minimum of 3 years' CAN & J1939 communication experience

The preferred candidate will have:

Previous experience with complete electronic vehicle systems architecture and software is a plus

Good knowledge of electronic components and communication protocols (CAN, LIN)

Proficiency in electrical and software tools such as CANalyzer, service tools, basic electrical tools
