BHCHP seeks a team-oriented Director of Information Technology (IT) who will creatively explore, implement, and maintain technologies that will support BHCHP’s justice-oriented mission.  The Director of IT has overall responsibility for the ongoing development and support of BHCHP’s information technology environment. This role involves developing highly effective technology solutions to meet program needs while also taking into consideration budget constraints, network security, ease of use, and department service standards. The Director of IT is responsible for providing technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of information technology solutions. As the health care landscape in Massachusetts and nationally continues to rapidly evolve, BHCHP prides itself on being a highly flexible and innovative organization, known for meeting the shifting needs of our patients and staff with compassion, quality, and urgency.

This position reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assess infrastructure and implement technologies and strategies to ensure efficiency, stability, and scalability of technology resources to meet BHCHP’s current and projected information technology needs
  • Design and implement infrastructure for supporting secure, reliable remote access to network resources and business applications from all BHCHP sites; Implement and manage a highly effective strategy for network and information security; develop mechanisms to stay ahead of security threats
  • Build and manage an IT environment compliant with HIPAA regulations and other internal and external control procedures
  • Responsible for the development, communication, and enforcement of hardware and software standards to ensure a controlled, manageable and supportable computing infrastructure; Ensure on-going security, efficiency, and continuous functioning of IT systems to meet organization needs.  Design and monitor metrics to evaluate and improve IT performance; troubleshoot hardware/software problems
  • Develop and monitor implementation and integrity of data backup routines; regularly assess effectiveness of backup strategies; Assist in development, implementation and testing of disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate and manage outside vendors and suppliers, and licensed/hosted services and products.
  • Participate in rotational on-call duties; Provide mentorship, training and leadership to the IT team
  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and planning of multiple systems including but not limited to: routing, switching, LAN, WAN, VPN, web filtering & security, network security systems (IPS, DLP, firewalls, antimalware, antivirus, access control, SIEM, MDM), VOIP telecommunications, virtualization (apps, server, and desktop), SaaS, cloud infrastructure, Hybrid MS Exchange, Office365, IP camera surveillance systems, electronic card access systems

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of networking tenets including current WAN technologies, routing & switching concepts, network access controls, monitoring & logging, and wired & wireless standards
  • Experience with Windows networking and server administration, Active Directory, and MS Exchange administration
  • Significant background in Citrix and VMWare virtualization technologies
  • Experience with installing, configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience with intrusion detection systems, enterprise virus and malware scanning, and general network monitoring
  • IP SAN experience and knowledge of data replication and backup best practices
  • Experience managing complex IP telephony; Highly adept with cyber security and network security strategy development
  • Experience defining business requirements and related system design
  • Ability to respond to evolving and sometimes urgent organizational needs with flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree with an emphasis in computer information systems, information technology, or appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience as IT Director or similar role (minimum 10 years of progressively responsible related experience, and 5 years of supervisory experience in information systems/technology)
  • Professional certifications related to network and systems architecture preferred
  • Health care IT experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in leading teams, designing and managing projects, and implementing IT solutions across their full lifecycles, from development and testing to implementation and support
