Digital Content Management (CMS) Practice Lead

The Digital Content Management (CMS) Practice Lead will work closely with UX leads, the business and technology organizations to establish, manage and guide the Content Management practice and platform from definition to publishing and beyond. The right candidate is a great communicator with the ability to lead the content practice and team while effectively translating strategy and business goals into the most effective platform for the business. The role involves managing the content practice team, defining / managing the content platform capabilities, and leading the content thought leadership within the organization.


Responsibilities:


Thought Leadership


- Provide, mentor and manage the thought leadership around enterprise content manage practices within the organization


- Define and implement the appropriate operational metrics which allow the product team, business and technology organizations to manage and optimize the platform


- Conduct content audits to ensure the content supports the user's and organization's goals


- Define and manage the optimal content management capabilities including content creation/editing, workflow, lifecycle, content delivery, syndication, tagging, security and auditing within a defined budget


- Ensure platform supports any regulatory and compliance requirements including audit and preservation


- Analyze company strategy, organizational goals, customer feedback, and usability testing results to shape the design of a world class content management and delivery platform


- (Optional - but a huge plus) Ability to develop and edit copy, as well as build and manage the necessary skills for copy creation and editing


Management


- Ensure performance metrics are in place which allow the effective leadership and management of the content management practice (people and process)


- Manage the performance of the content management team including hiring, termination, and professional career development


- Align the content practice's performance and activities to organizational, strategic and project objectives


- Assess current content and content practices and recommend investments that will drive improved speed, efficiency and innovation for the business


- Define and manage to operational service level agreements (SLA's) with the business, marketing and technology organizations


- Collaborate on and manage the various work products which are provided to the team as well as the work products the team produces


Qualifications


- Strong content strategy experience, including content auditing and analysis, matrix planning and execution, information architecture, SEO techniques (5+ years)


- Experience with leading Content Management system; SDL/Tridion highly preferred (5+ years)


- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management experience including performance management, coaching and mentoring and professional career development (3+ years)


- Ability to provide clear creative conceptual direction and to motivate cross functional teams


- Ability to extract insights from large amounts of information. Comfort developing presentations and presenting your ideas


- Strong professional experience in emerging media content, technologies + services and online community engagement


- An understanding of digital platforms, the opportunities and challenges they present and opinions on what will work best and why.


- A working knowledge of current digital technologies, publishing tools and trends in the advertising, communications and marketing industries.


- Understanding of standard approaches to data analytics, ads implementation, application development and platform integration


- Experience working with UX team members


- Not required but huge plus: Strong writing and editing skills, and or ability to direct copywriting activities


- 10+ years professional experience


A Specialized Business Consultant provides deep subject matter expertise in the requested field to achieve business objectives such as operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, or improving competitive position. Analyzes problems and recommends strategies to client to achieve business objectives. Leads cross-function teams in developing or reengineering processes using requirements gathered from clients. Responsibilities include formulating process remediation and implementation strategies; preparing written assessments and presenting recommendations to executive level clients. Able to facilitate organizational change through effective communication, building consensus and creating complete and coordinated implementation plans. Requires a high level of subject matter expertise in the specified area. Demonstrated analytical and project management experience. Strong business savvy and negotiation skills. Extensive experience in business analysis and program implementation.
