job summary:

A client of ours in San Antonio, TX is looking for a Desktop Technician with Tier 2-3 experience for a 6 month contract opportunity.

Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • 2-3 years Desktop Operations/ Technician experience in a Tier II or III capacity
  • Strong trouble shooting/problems solving skills within a Windows 7/Windows 10 environment
  • Handle Tier II/III issues along with basic desktop skills such as imaging desktops
  • Strong communication & Customer Service skills (will be assisting end users)
  • Inventory management which includes hardware movement, disk drive removal and readying all hardware for salvage pickup.
  • Experience updating applications

responsibilities:

This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

 
qualifications:
  • Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
  • Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
  • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines
  • Create, maintain, and distribute reports of progress to senior leadership
  • Migrating servers to Windows 10
  • Maintain client databases with up to date solutions and clear record of activities
  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to clients
  • Use call logging system to accurately record telephone requests
