job summary:

Our large financial client in Washington DC is seeking a skilled Desktop Integration Engineer to support the Workgroup & End User Computing Team, which is responsible for the evaluation, testing, and implementation of emerging technologies in desktop and mobile computing areas.

Desktop IT Integration Engineer (Windows Systems Security Engineering) is responsible for maintaining Windows Client security components for 30000+ Enterprise Desktops/Laptops.

responsibilities:

Duties and Accountabilities:

- Strengthen Endpoint security by deploying and managing AppLocker, Windows firewall, Windows Defender and CrowdStrike under close collaboration with Office of Information Security.

- Engineering products & solutions related to endpoint platforms i.e. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Enterprise Desktop Image Engineering (Currently Windows 10)

- Participate in all aspects of the engineering process to implement security solutions (e.g., requirements definition, top-level functional designs, project management and cost analysis).

- Install, configure, and maintain desktop security software components and infrastructure servers in a lab and production environments.

- Ensure the reliability of endpoint protection systems. Provide support for desktop security applications, such as Windows AppLocker, Defender & Firewall, and BitLocker full-disk encryption (FDE), to maintain stable and effective desktop security.

- Evaluate and provide feedback on future security technologies, new releases and upgrades. Assess and provide recommendations on their business relevance and deployment. Identify solutions that meet business requirements, align with strategic goals, and improve performance.

- Analyze business and technical requirements. Design, test, debug, maintain, modify and document systems/solutions to meet those requirements. Coordinate the design of subsystems and their integration with larger systems.

- Implement integration plans. Interface with testing teams to incorporate plans into the integration testing process.

- Design and plan testing efforts, coordinate feedback of test results. Develop case test files. Conduct unit, system, stress, integration and/or user testing to ensure that requirements are met.

- Perform troubleshooting for security incidents that require software and network forensic analysis, in close collaboration with other ITS teams.

- Ensures that Client Group policies, procedures and standards are factored into project design and development.

- Documents detailed system specifications for major systems installations.

 
qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of related experience related to desktop security engineering and Proven experience with installation, configuration, operational support and in-depth troubleshooting of following products:

o Windows Firewall;

o AppLocker;

o CrowdStrike Falcon Host;

o MBAM;

o Bitlocker;

o System Center Endpoint Protection;

o Splunk.

- In depth understanding of Windows OS internals (kernel structure, driver model).

- Extensive skills in kernel level debugging and log analysis for proactive monitoring of endpoints using Splunk

- Expertise in Windows Active Directory Structure, Schema and Group Policies and Microsoft PKI Infrastructure

- Extensive Scripting and Programming skills for developing system utilities, Scripts using Visual Studio .Net, VBScript , PowerShell , WMI & ADSI with VB/J script,

- Good understanding of internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, XML), Windows Networks (Active Directory, WINS, NETBIOS, NDIS), and Network Security.

- Familiar with system performance analysis tools for Microsoft Windows, diagnostic tools to help speed up problem isolation and resolution.

- Familiarity with performance analysis using performance monitoring and tuning tools (e.g., Xperf).

- Excellent oral and written communications skills.

- Initiative and resourcefulness in complex environments; flexibility and the ability to effectively prioritize conflicting demands in high-pressure and time-critical situations are essential.

- Good understanding of Desktop Virtualization platforms and Cloud service
