Responsibilities

Position is in support of the U.S. Army CCDC C5ISR Center Sustaining Base Network Assurance Branch (SBNAB). Program objective is to address today's cyber threats by designing and deploying game-changing cyber defense capabilities that allow organizations to defend better, react faster, coordinate rapidly, prioritize efforts, and respond smarter to security events, increased risks, and/or operational directives.

Description: Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems and provides overall level 2 support. Designs, installs, maintains and coordinates the use of network systems. Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks. Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution. Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts. Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms. Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces network security procedures. Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. A Network Administrator has experience in managing, monitoring and configuring the routine operations and maintenance of computer systems in a variety of different networks to include high volume/high availability systems. Must have experience responding and resolving problems quickly. Must have the skills to implement agency policy regarding computer access and implement firewalls.


Qualifications

1. Masters with 3 years of experience, Bachelor's with 5 years of experience or an Associate degree with 10 years of experience. Degree must be in Engineering or Computer Science in one of following disciplines: Systems/Network/DB Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Info Science, or SW Engineering.

2. Membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers certication is desired.

3. Requires active TS/SCI clearance.

4. Requires current Information Assurance Technical (IAT)-II or higher certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH) and current Computing Environment certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
