The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, seeks a Database Developer (Level 2) with strong communication skills and teamwork abilities. This position will provide analytic/statistical support for assigned projects, assist in the implementation of applicable computer software needs for the department, plus ensure data integrity and quality control of AAP databases.

Some tasks include:
1. Conduct complex data analysis, improve programming functions, automate recurring processes, and complete tasks assigned to meet deadlines of AAP projects.
2. Develop and implement conversion strategies and programs to convert existing databases to future systems.
3. Provide technical assistance to users as requested.
4. Create, modify, and tune stored procedures and queries as needed.
5. Develop and implement programs and methods to make AAP data available via integration and other electronic delivery systems using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other technologies.
6. Manage AAP data and perform system analysis to ensure data security, consistency, and integrity.
7. Expand reporting capabilities at AAP to service staff by maintaining their needs in electronic reporting using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or other technologies such as Microsoft Power BI.
8. Provide documentation and details on project work.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience required.
2. At least three years of SQL experience or administration in version 2012 through current. Experience using relational databases and Integration Services (SSIS package development) required.
3. Knowledge of T-SQL programming, SSIS package development and Reporting Services required.
4. Knowledge of C#, .NET, and other Business Intelligence (BI) a plus.
5. Ability to learn and work effectively with databases in .NET and client-server environment.
6. Willingness and ability to learn other programming languages, applications, and other technologies when necessary is essential. Familiarity with NetForum Enterprise application database a plus. Must work well within a team environment.  Some weekend work required.
