Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers financial needs.

The Artificial Intelligence Model Development Center of Excellence (AI MD CoE) team is a data science team, responsible for developing and deploying machine learning and AI solutions for a number of domain areas such as fraud prevention, credit risk, experience personalization, customer listening, anomaly detection and operational cost improvement. The CoE partners closely with the AI Enterprise Solutions and the AI Technology teams at the bank, and brings a cross-functional approach to identifying, developing and deploying AI solutions.

The CoE requires high-skill/ high-motivation individuals who enjoy working collaboratively in a team setting, used to taking decisions autonomously and comfortable with a dynamic work environment. The COE is looking for an experienced analytics leader to support Internal Audit.

This role is responsible for performing highly complex activities related to creation, implementation, documentation, validation, articulation and defense, on-going maintenance of complex models grounded in highly statistical theory used to quantify, analyze and manage market, credit, counterparty and operational risks or to forecasts losses and compute capital requirements or enable decision making in business, product, marketing or other functional areas. Duties typically include developing and documenting analytical models and strategies for short and long term objectives, performing analytical support and/or modeling, and providing well-articulated insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives. This job may utilize stochastic, structured securities, option adjusted spread analyses, etc. and has expertise in the theory and mathematics behind the analyses. May interface with regulators and auditors. This job requires extensive knowledge of the financial products and/or portfolios assigned and the ability to schedule and run the analyses, inclusive of technical, audit, accounting, and market perspectives, identifying structure and scope of review.

Key Responsibilities include:

Functions as a team lead for a group of data scientists responsible for AI/ML model development in support of compliance initiatives Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models using state of the art techniques available in the open stack (primarily Python) and/or vendor solutions Partner with LOB business executives to frame the problem, manage the model development process, and business relationship Manage a portfolio of the data science projects including the following responsibilities: Help finalize project scope working with business partners On-going touch-base with business partners and governance stakeholders Define priorities in partnership with the business partners during on-going development Partner with corporate risk teams to understand model risk policy and its implications to model development, review, and monitoring Adhere to corporate model risk policy and ensure compliance with model risk management Working with other data science teams to identify, gather, retain, and publicize modeling artifacts required for approved and repeatable processes Work with AI technology and production teams to operationalize models May be called upon to review vendor models and solutions and/or models developed outside of EADS Have the ability to create sophisticated, value-added analytic systems for fraud, collections, deposits, risk & compliance, and others using big-data machinery and advanced machine learning techniques Have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in an agile and collaborative environment Provide technical advice to other members of the team and across the organization on topics including machine learning code, machine learning algorithms and traversing across multiple big data platforms Identify and lead the evaluation of new software techniques and technologies, including delivery of results Identify new applications for machine learning across the company and work with business partners to pilotRequired Qualifications

4+ years of experience in an advanced scientific or mathematical fieldA master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science4+ years of statistical modeling experience4+ years of Python experience4+ years of SQL experience4 + years of experience using quantitative machine learning techniques

Desired Qualifications

1+ years of Natural Language Processing (NLP) experienceStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyA BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative disciplineAbility to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team membersMeeting facilitation experience in leading discussions that result in consensus and commitmentExperience with Tensorflow, Theano or Keras

Other Desired Qualifications Solid understanding of and 4+ years of experience applying machine learning techniques such as neural networks, random forest, GBM and SVM, Probabilistic Graphical Models, Deep Learning architectures, etc.. Experience with signal processing or optimization techniques Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques (e.g. sampling, probability, multivariate data analysis, regression, PCA, time-series analysis) Strong ability to retrieve, combine and transform data from numerous information systems Strong acumen in diagnosing and resolving data issues Experience working with big data infrastructure with tools such as Hive, Spark and h2o Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to relate complex analysis and insights to effective business strategy. Oher advanced statistical tools such as SAS, R and Weka 4+ years managing or directing data scientist/ statistician/ data engineer teams Technical skills: Familiarity and comfort with data pipelining and movement tools and tools for predictive analytics/ NLP/ machine learning Strong analytical and problem solving experience to aid decision making, in areas such as compliance, customer experience improvement, and analytics, operations optimization Experience with agile project management methodologies for data scienceStreet Address
