job summary:

A client of ours in San Antonio, Texas is looking for a Data Modeler for a 2 year contract opportunity. Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:

Job Role:

This is a role in Bank Business Intelligence & Analytics (BBIA) supporting the Real Estate and Business Controls groups within the client. This position sits in the business and interfaces primarily with other analysts in BBIA, as well as IT. This analyst will support IT development through data model review/validation, data profiling, and data validation in both a Lab and Production environment. This role will primarily work with SAS and SQL through various tools: SAS Enterprise Guide, Aginity, Squirrel, etc. Experience in SAP Business Objects Webi and Tableau is also needed as report development may be required. The individual should be well-versed in Agile. A willingness to learn new technologies and obtain an intermediate knowledge of the business units referenced above is also required.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or 8 years experience in an analytical or technical support function

4+ years experience in an analytical or technical support function or general data analysis/extraction experience

Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Advanced SQL skills

Intermediate knowledge of SAP Business Objects Webi

Intermediate knowledge of Tableau

Intermediate experience reviewing and validating data models

Knowledge of fundamental information management concepts/terms - ETL, data validation, metadata management, relational databases, database design, etc.

Experience in data profiling and data validation techniques/processes

Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; capable of working independently and troubleshooting data issues with minimal oversight

Working knowledge of agile methodology and what it means to work within an agile framework

Clear and concise communicator

Possesses the willingness and ability to learn new technical and business concepts

Preferred Requirements:

Previous experience working in banking/financial services, specifically Real Estate

Experience working as part of an agile team, including participation in agile ceremonies, story grooming, task creation, etc.

Experience in identifying, documenting and analyzing business and/or data requirements

Experience in Tableau Server or Business Objects administration (access controls, usage audits, universe design, etc.)

Experience working in Hadoop

Experience preferred:

SAS

Tableau and Business Objects

Previous experience working in banking/financial services; Mortgage, Bank Business/Regulatory Controls

Scaled Agile program/project management experience
