This position will support and grow our enterprise data management environment within a matrix organization. The individual in this role will be primarily focused on creating conceptual and logical models as well as serving as a team lead to other modelers in support of our application integration and data warehousing needs. This position will also work with our growing real-time integration platforms.

Job Responsibilities: 

Data Modeling

  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Analyze information flow and recommend appropriate technological solutions.
  • Perform data analysis activities to capture data requirements.
  • Ensure that ETL design and development efforts support business rules.
  • Perform physical database design tasks (e.g. performance tuning).
  • Administer our ER Studio environment. 

Leadership & Consultation

  • Create and maintain data modeling, design and implementation standards.
  • Lead modeling team meetings.
  • Work with the Enterprise Data Architect and governance groups to develop standards for the naming, description, governance, management, modeling, storing, cleansing, and transformation of data within the enterprise.
  • Provide procedural and technical guidance to teammates.
  • Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders to develop and achieve long term objectives for data architecture and data quality.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 or more years of hands on data modeling experience in an enterprise environment or a comparable combination of education, experience, and/or training.
  • Strong SQL (Structured Query Language) and data extraction skills.
  • Experience designing dimensional models.
  • Experience optimizing physical designs for effective ETL and maximum query performance. Experience with ETL best practices.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to provide feedback and consultation to leadership.

Preferred:

  • Experience with ER Studio.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with Oracle 12 database design and implementation.
  • Experience working in an agile (e.g. Scrum) environment.
