Job Description

The Chief Data Office role was recently created to capitalize upon Wells Fargos significant investment in data and analytics over the past several years. Central to the role is the Enterprise Data and Analytics team (EDA), which brought together the largest data warehouse and data & analytics groups from areas across the Wells Fargo enterprise three years ago. The team provides critical data technology to every business line. Combining these significant groups was identified by the Operating Committee of Wells Fargo as key to driving new levels of competitive advantage for Wells Fargo including increasing revenue, improving the customer experience, improving efficiency and lowering risk.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the EDA organization. This position will serve as a Business Systems Consultant supporting the Corporate Risk team and will perform detailed data analysis for key Corporate Risk applications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Recognized as an expert and visionary in providing strategic business solutions to enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
  • Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of the most complex, strategic, corporate-wide business problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements.
  • Applies knowledge of industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position Wells Fargo for the future.
  • Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes.
  • Participates in transforming strategic enterprise architecture and design principles into specific system requirements and specifications.
  • Acts as the highest-level internal consultant within technology and business groups by re-engineering technical processes for greater efficiencies with significant impact to the business.
  • Maintain and ensure that Metadata and internal documentation are updated as a result of project implementations and business analysis.
  • Directs, mentors, and provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff in design, development and resolution of highly complex technical problems.
  • Analyze and resolve production defects.

Who We Are:

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business systems analysis experience, design experience, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience
  • 3+ years of data warehouse experience
  • 3+ years of SQL experience
  • 3+ years of client support experience
  • 1+ year of Teradata experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
  • Ability to capture and document complex business and functional requirements

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience gathering and designing business requirements to support business data solutions
  • Proven experience working with complex systems integration and data mapping in a data warehousing environment
  • Proven experience writing FSDs (Functional Specification Documents)
  • Demonstrated ability writing SQL queries to perform complex data analysis independently
  • Proven experience performing analysis on the data from the source and experience with source to target mapping.
  • Ability to grasp dynamic Business Process/Systems Modeling
  • Proven analytical problem solving and decision making skills
  • Track record of strong leadership capabilities including leading large meetings, influence partners and direct other junior team members
  • Project management aptitude
