job summary:

We are currently seeking a contract Process Control Programmer for the Pensacola, FL area. An ideal candidate will work within the IT department as a member of the team responsible for the programming of the plant floor devices as they relate to supervisory applications. The individual will be responsible for conditioning and fixing current programming, creating standards, and validating standards implementation on future programs.

Responsibilities:Supporting and driving IT implementation initiatives

Participating in functional area plant meetings and related functions to represent IT project management and to assist in meeting IT performance goals

Investigates controls and IT system integration problems and provides technical input in problem resolution

Communicates IT requirements to the appropriate staffs and coordinates controls integration activities with the plant business team

Mechanical / Electrical aptitude with the ability to grasp complex systems easily

Develop and monitor planning timetables and project schedules and reports planning progress to all departments impacted.

Provides defined technical support and direction to support personnel within the organization

Works with IT teams to promote common systems and best practices

Reports planning progress to all departments impacted


Electrical Engineering degree preferred (other Engineering or Computer Science degrees will be considered)

3 to 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing controls / controls integration experience

skills: Expert knowledge of manufacturing tools and technologies (e.g., SCADA, MES, OPC, DCS, etc.)

Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems

Extensive experience with various programmable logic controllers (PLC) especially Allen Bradley

Learns technical concepts and practices quickly

Communicate issues to proper parties within affected departments

Ability to multitask in a fast paced, highly flexible environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to take highly technical discussions to the appropriate level to foster proper understanding to drive decisions and forward progress

Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

Understand business processes and how underlying systems and technologies enable processes

Demonstrated ability to work with business users to understand their processes and requirements to be able to create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy, and solution approach

Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
