Permanent position: Leading manufacture is searching for a sharp Controls Engineer (Direct Hire Opportunity) in the Dallas, Texas area. This opportunity comes with an excellent compensation plan commensurate with experience with a base salary ranging from $90k to $100k plus a bonus opportunity. Additionally, relocation assistance is available. The ideal candidate will possess a BS preferably in Electrical Engineering along with a track record of project development and execution focused around factory automation projects. Candidates must possess experience implementing, developing, troubleshooting and providing direction for the installation, maintenance and repair of plant control systems. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities for the Controls Engineer

  • Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, initiate action for optimization and participate in process improvement efforts to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity and cost effectiveness
  • Provide technical assistance in support of capital projects, process evaluation and equipment modification.
  • Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations and maintain all logic and PLC programs, install switches and perform maintenance on the network as needed
  • Perform analysis, detailed design, capital request preparation, installation, start up/checkout/debugging and cost control of assigned projects
  • Develop electrical training programs for electrical, instrument and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations. Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees

Requirements for the Controls Engineer

  • BS degree in electrical engineering is preferred
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, debugging and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with interface tools, such as Wonderware, SCADA or PanelView
  • Proficiency with creating process flow diagrams, maintaining electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with using variable frequency drives, servo motion control and AC & DC drives
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
