Your Role and Responsibilities

Who We Are...
Our team plays a critical, cross-functional role working with experts at many different levels of the organization across offering management, marketing and communications. We build strong relationships with industry analysts and influencers to gain insight to inform IBMs strategy, build exposure for IBMs offerings, and position IBM to solve clients most critical needs. As a result of our continued growth, we are expanding our team to hire a Content & Communications Leader.

You recognize the value of forging partnerships across the org, and are not afraid to be the one to initiate contact.

Do you lead by example - with the ability to keep our team organized, providing clarity on responsibilities, timelines, and intended outcomes? The ideal candidate sees 'past the project' and is able to grasp big-picture concepts, without sacrificing strong attention to detail. You chase tasks until completion and always follow-up to maintain a protocol-based on accountability. Possessing a natural tendency to be proactive, you KNOW the needs of the teams and get creative when opportunities arise to help your teammates. And more importantly, you know when to listen and when to lead. The ability to collaborate with your AR teammates and colleagues in Comms, Marketing, and Offering Management to convey AR-driven outcomes will be paramount in this role.

Sound interesting? Here's what you'll do. Through a high-touch, digital engagement model you will...

  • Help & Mentor the IBM Analyst Relations team to build and nurture meaningful relationships

  • Deliver valuable feedback and insight from the analyst community back into IBM

  • Manage the teams process and content around executive reporting

  • Lead the development of a new digital community tailor made for the industry analyst audience.

  • Partner across Analyst Relations with our BU and Geo leaders to curate meaningful content including roadmaps, customer journeys and references, strategy decks, offering overviews, demos and other digital content

  • Prepare internal communications that convey AR value and inform ARs executive stakeholders on our progress against team goals, significant milestones and outcomes, event wrap-ups and upcoming activity

  • Build a content and communications management system and calendar, manage multiple content development and publishing projects simultaneously

  • Establish, grow, and expand the AR content and communications discipline to educate the market on IBMs strategy and offerings, while fostering strong external and internal community engagement

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

In addition to your superior written and verbal communication skills, you will possess the following...

  • FANTASTIC writing skills

  • 10+ years' professional experience overall (not solely in the Analyst Relations realm)

  • 5+ years experience editing/publishing mass comms to vertical market / niche based communities

  • 3+ years experience wielding knowledge of the enterprise technology landscape (cloud, IoT, BigData, etc.)

  • 3+ years experience leading (not necessarily managing a team) a portfolio-driven comms group

  • A desire to continue to grow in this ever-evolving role, and learn from the industrys best talent

  • The ability to deal with change and ambiguity, operate in an agile environment, and prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience working with Gartner and/or other top industry analyst firms
