ITS Solution Design requires an experienced Solution Designer, focused on our Systems practice.

The Solution Design competency is measured on business results, including opportunity engagement, TCV
and Bid and Proposal spend. The role requires strong engagement management skills and should focus on
building profitable business and leadership across Bid and Proposal solutions.

Solution Design Responsibilities and Tasks Include:
Development of proposals to meet the customer requirements, including responding to RFI, RFP,
RFQ and Tenders
Development of Statements of Work (SOWs)
Development of pricing cases and project schedules
Management of the opportunity through the Solution Design Process
Management of the proposal team roles and tasks
Opportunity engagement with ITS Sales personnel and optional involvement with customer
engagement of the solution
Taking corrective or preventative actions to ensure the proposal is prepared and the Solution Design
processes are followed
Ensuring that Quality Assurance (QA) activities are performed
Scheduling and managing QA reviews
Ensuring all IBM proposal sign-offs are obtained and that ITS Business Controls are met.
Opportunity forecasting

Solutions include:
Managed Services across IBM hardware and Data centre locations
IMI Offshore solutions
Resiliency DR management, and development
Cloud Solutions for Hybrid customer on-premise, and off using IBMs PMC offering
Cloud Managed Services, VMWare offering stack
SoftLayer, AWS, or Azure with added offshore management

Key Skills:
Solution Design skills associated with responding to tenders, scoping, estimating and successfully
managing the bid process through opportunity qualification through to signed contracts
Experience as a Project Manager in the Networking space
Several years experience of running medium / large projects and working with third parties
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
Ability to work in a customer facing environment
Needs first-rate leadership skills
Needs first-rate negotiating skills
Needs first-rate presentation skills
Needs to be politically astute
Ability to manage multiple detailed solutions

Sales and Marketing personnel
Professional Services personnel.
Technical employees,
Customer Service/Support team members

External Contacts:
Significant contact with customer and third party staff

Typical Experience:
Proven experience in a PM field information technology, systems integration or development.
Experience in a solution design or proposal development role within IBM or with external IT vendor
