Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Db2 for z/OS is still the undisputed leader for storing and harnessing mission critical data. It remains the gold standard for system availability, scalability, security and cost effectiveness. A majority of Fortune 500 companies, including the world's top banks, retailers and insurance providers trust Db2 for z/OS for storing their data.

We are looking for ambitious and talented team members to join our team. If you have excellent communication and teaming skills are highly responsive and have a passion for learning as well as digging in to solve tough problems you are just the person we are looking for.

We are hiring an IBM Client Success Representative in San Jose, CA:
  • Specializes in analyzing complex problems in a disciplined manner and clearly communicates solutions and workarounds to customers.
  • Provides technical support assistance directly to customers and/or IBM representatives using problem determination and technical analytical skills.
  • Is responsible for analyzing, recreating, and resolving customer reported problems in complex z/OS platform middleware software products.
  • Is responsible for writing Tech Notes, performing causal analysis, contributing to service metrics, and focusing on defect prevention activities resulting in high customer satisfaction results.
  • Provides recommendations for improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes.
  • Contributes to department attainment of organizational objectives and high customer satisfaction.

Collaborative teaming is required to interface with customers, development, vendor business partners (VBPs), quality assurance testers, user technology (publications), and other support organizations.
A rotational call-out role required for one week (on call 24x7) performing at least 3 times per year.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • 5+ Years zOS System Administration or Application Development
  • Ability to articulate and compare alternatives approaches. Negotiate with specified objectives.
  • Independently generates solutions, based on analytical skills & business knowledge
  • English: Fluent
  • Willing and able to work an office based position in San Jose, CA

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • IBM Db2 for z/OS and Tooling i.e. IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for Db2
  • Installation, setup, and configuration skills
  • zOS Systems Programmer background
  • Experience with IBM support process and tooling including Salesforce
