Looking for a Cisco Network Engineer for an FTE role with our client in South Portland Maine

Job Summary:

The Network Engineer will provide subject matter expertise and vendor management for the design, sourcing and installations of Telephony, LAN and WAN technologies. They must provide technical skills that cover a broad range of technical disciplines around Cisco infrastructure. The Network Engineer must be able to manage several network related projects in parallel while maintaining high customer satisfaction and achieving established timelines and milestones. He or she will possess analytical skills with a high degree of creativity; in depth knowledge of the business implications of technical approaches, advanced project planning and coordination skills, and superior communication skills.


- Responsible for engineering, implementation, and ongoing support of LAN, WAN, Wireless networks and communication technologies across the enterprise.

- Creation of Standard Operating Procedures and knowledge base articles for all supported systems, including end-user training materials and documentation.

- Design, support and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity and supporting technologies.

- Provide Level 3 escalation for Help Desk

- Project planning and coordination skills, and superior communication skills.

- Respond to leadership issues and information requests within defined areas of responsibility as required.

- Network Auditing.

- Identify performance issues and provide recommendations.

- Provide hardening solutions and drive efforts around it.

- Manage and monitor operational tools including network & application traffic capture probes.

- Provide onsite and offsite production support during work hours and off-hours

- Performs duties with little or no supervision in an independent manner, available for on call duty as necessary.

- Create/maintain documentation for LAN, WAN and telecommunications infrastructure.

- Other duties as assigned by management. Compliance Accountabilities

- Maintain current awareness and understanding of all regulatory compliance responsibilities of the position. Ensure that own work, as well as work of any employees supervised, is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulation, policies and guidelines.

- Ensure proper safeguarding of confidential and proprietary information of consumers and other protected information under the Company's Information Security Policy.

Basic Qualifications:

Required Experience:

The successful candidate will have 4-7 years work experience with Cisco Routing and switching.

-Knowledge and experience in designing, implementing and supporting Cisco Call Manager and Unity.

-College graduate with a degree in computer science, information systems or related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be accepted.

-Experience with:

-IP routing protocols and topologies: BGP, OSPF, RIP

-Switching technologies: Layer 2 and Layer 3


-Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers

Preferred Experience:

- A working knowledge of mortgage industry

Experience with:

- Cisco WSA

-Office 365 integrations.

-Video Conferencing

- VMware Virtualization

- Microsoft Windows 2008/2012

-Citrix Xenapp

- Citrix NetScaler

-Cisco Prime Infrastructure


-CCNA Routing and Switching
