This position will have primary leadership and accountability for implementing and supporting a comprehensive Pega CASE/BPM System (AKA CEDARs) leveraging an agile project/program methodology. This will be a highly visible role collaborating with business leaders to develop strategy, drive technology decisions and provide leadership for building Pega CASE/BPM expertise and scaled solutions across PVSI Operations and other lines of Business (LOBs).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and supporting a technical organization structure that optimally leverages an agile approach to building BPM solutions.
  • Insure staffing model and capabilities are focused on an agile framework and can support large complex solutions leveraging that agile model.
  • Set strategic direction - development of CASE/BPM Strategy, roadmap, and approach
  • Lead effort to build CASE/BPM-centric platforms and services leveraging the CEDARs framework that PVSI Operations and other potential businesses in the enterprise can leverage.
  • Participate as a key technology stakeholder and partner with the business stakeholders to develop the foundational strategy and deliver on key CASE/BPM/agile capabilities.
  • Insure all aspects of a Technical Case/BPM solution are implemented according to business needs while insuring the integrity of a reusable framework that can be leveraged across multiple business solutions.
  • Coordinate all CASE/BPM CEDARs technology activities
  • Synchronize with LOB and Technical partners on best practices leveraging agile and optimal implementation and support strategies.
  • Communicate with executives and sponsors
  • Help develop and influence a centralized organization of resources supporting the Pega CASE/BPM systems and platforms
  • Build and maintain ongoing partnership with LOB CIO / CTOs, Business operations, and Enterprise Teams
  • Help Development and ongoing enhancement of CASE/BPM/agile Strategies, Roadmap, and Architectures
  • Partner with Business and Technology teams to drive and sustain Platform Optimization, processes, and governance
  • Drive technology decisions in the best interest of all constituent groups
  • Provide comprehensive consultation to the EIT and Line of Business leadership and develop relationships with other functional areas within EIT as well as Audit, Finance, Risk Management, etc.
  • Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives.

In addition this position will insure that all technical aspects of a successful, complex solution are delivered including:

  • Sufficient, knowledgeable and qualified development resources leveraging Pega Technology and agile practices
  • Sufficient Business Systems Consultants who have expertise in both CASE/BPM and Pega Technology with and understanding of the business solution and business processes and can bridge the business needs with the technical solution.
  • Insures the proper SDLC methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) is selected for project/effort
  • Has technical oversite insuring that the SDLC methodology is followed and optimized to achieve proper staffing of all technical components
  • Insures an optimized relationship between the technical staff and the business partners for whom the solution is being implemented
  • insures the Quality Assurance (QA) testing approach is done effectively based on the SDLC methodology selected
  • Has expertise in and insures implementation of an Agile-like approach to the workflow solution
  • Accountable for insuring a Technically reusable CEDARs framework is upheld and enforced to insure optimal reusability ongoing

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in technology

  • Management experience including large/multiple application development efforts within a small-to-medium size line of business
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to manage large-scale initiatives including stakeholders across business and technical teams
  • Ability to manage large or multiple application development efforts in a small to medium size line of business
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Experience identifying key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
  • Ability to develop roadmaps and plans that enable strategies
  • Ability to create and clearly articulate the target state including: the execution roadmap, costs, benefits and risks
  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile
