Job Description

This Capital Markets Trading Platform Engineer position is responsible for the production monitoring, capacity management, workflow management and change management. This role will be responsible for communication and collaboration between multiple front end platforms generating order flow, trading platforms used in execution, middle office platforms used to manage order rules and back office platforms used in record keeping, security master and market maker connectivity.

Additional responsibilities will include:

Operational supervision and support of complex technology platforms within the Securities businesses; and/or own specific technology function(s) for such platforms, including high performance computing, capital markets quality assurance testing, platform monitoring, low latency infrastructure and tools / automation for platform configurations.

Capacity management analysis, planning and implementation; analyze workflows in trading applications; support capital markets trading / risk management / analytics platforms in a highly dynamic & demanding trading floor environment; engineer high performance and/or low latency platforms

Participation in the development of technical support strategies and plans; resolution & proactive management of application problems; create, prepare and conduct quality assurance reviews and develop / execute test plans including volume & failure testing.

Acting as the primary knowledge resource and consultant for a specific capital markets platform function.

Manage, lead and provide guidance to less experience team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application support experience, platform management experience, or a combination of both
  • 4+ years of experience in capital markets and investment banking

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the capital markets business and processes
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of application support for capital markets & investment banking applications
  • Strong business and technical understanding of end to end capital markets trading and operational environments
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of capital markets: quality assurance testing, high performance computing, middleware and platform management tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry regulations supporting technological solutions such as: SEC, FINRA, Dodd Frank, and Basel

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Expertise in MS Excel- Macros, Data Management
  • SQL Experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Capital Markets Business and Processes
    • Equity Trading Operational Environments
    • Equity Order Entry, Validation, Execution and Trade Reporting
    • Equity performance, compliance and operational requirements
    • Equity Trading Regulations

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
