The position is in Equity Derivatives Trading technology group. This position is for a technology lead working on projects to support trading and risk management for derivative securities. Even though this is a technical job, the candidate is required to have sound business knowledge and hands on experience working with Sales, Trading and Operations stakeholders. The responsabilities include:

  • Hands on technical lead with responsibility for a small team of software engineers
  • Write functional documents and design technical specifications
  • Work closely with business users, technology groups, program management, product management, quality analysts on the preparation of test cases
  • Test software through unit testing, test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification, fixing, and resolution
  • Maintain full project life-cycle tasks, such as business and technical analysis, designing, coding, testing, and implementation plans
  • Conduct code reviews with team members to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development
  • Analyze application for data integrity issues

Maintain all system diagrams, system interface charts and any other compliance policy and procedure documents.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 4+ years of securities industry experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • 7 + years of computer application development experience
  • 7+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements
  • 7+ years of design pattern experience
  • 7+ years of Object Oriented Design (OOD) experience
  • 7+ years of SQL experience
  • 7+ years of Multi-Threading Experience
  • 4 + years of direct report management experience including, but not limited to, assigning tasks, conducting performance evaluations and determining salary adjustments
  • 4+ years of JIRA experience
  • 4 + years of Core Java experience
  • 4+ years of POJO experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of network, distributed system, applications or event management disciplines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Good analytical skills including analyzing complex data

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of OTC Derivatives products
  • Front to back trade processing and lifecycle management
  • Experience working on a large regulatory, trade capture or risk management project
  • Good communication skills - ability to clearly articulate complex requirements and how that translates to technical implementation
  • Comfortable facing off with project stakeholders in Sales, Trading, Operations, Compliance, Legal, etc.
  • Document authoring i.e. FSD, business flows
  • Presentation with MS PowerPoint
