Job Description

This Role is for senior developer on an application serving the Fixed Income Busienss. Application is provides the Fixed Income businesses (Front office and Middle Office) with functionality for trade capture, trade processing, position management, regulatory reportin and distribution across all business. It is a high availability, high volume application operating globally 24 hours a day 6 days a week.

This position is for a Fixed Income Java Developer (experience in .Net is a huge plus) with at least 10 years of experience, who candesign and develop large scale fixed income trading applications. Candidate should have solid communication skills and be a good team player who can interface with business analysts, management, and othertechnology groups.This is a hands-on position whichwill involve 80% development and20% production support role. Understand and translate business needs into technical requirements and implementations. Must be willing to participate in all aspects of software life cycle including analysis, design, development, Testing and maintenance.

Candidate would be actively engaged in architecture, design, development, unit testing, and stress testing of a high-end Java based application, and be a key participant in a small, focused and highly talented delivery team for front office trading development.. Candidate will participate in end-to-end system development working on both the server and user interface of the application.

The candidate will be expected to solve software, and infrastructure problems in relation to complex trading processes, design and develop automated stress testing harnesses, recommend and implement solutions, participate in and conduct code review sessions, and provide process improvements. The candidate will additionally be expected to provide hands on technical support, advice, and consultation with open issues relating to supported applications plus assure quality, performance, security, trading risk controls, and compliance for those application platforms. Domain expertise in Fixed Income, FX and/or Equities, coupled with hands-on experience in building electronic trading platforms and/or components is a huge plus.



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application development experience
  • 3+ years of securities industry experience
  • 7 + years of computer application development experience
  • 7 + years of Core Java experience
  • 5+ years of capital markets experience
  • 5+ years of Multi-Threading Experience
  • 5+ years of UI (User Interface) experience
  • 5+ years of Oracle Coherence development or implementation experience
  • 4+ years of Linux experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
  • 5+ years of credit markets experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in building systems to trade electronically within Fixed Income.
  • Understanding of simple and complex bond value calculations (Bullet, Perpetual, Callable, Floating Rate Note, EDSF)
  • Prior experience in building high throughput, low latency electronic trading and client connectivity systems
  • Good understanding of core programming concepts and techniques like networking, multi-threading, synchronization, data structures, algorithms, memory management, etc
