Job Description

Quantitative Analytics Software Engineer

  • The role is for a senior software engineer that will provide leadership across several application domains that relate to EQ sales and trading analytics
  • The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in building solutions for the Equities line of business
  • Initially focus will be on building prototypes that leverage big data patterns and other forms of traditional data analytics to investigate & predict trends and associations related to sales activity & electronic trading
  • The candidate must have proven experience working with front office teams and constructing high quality data driven solutions that aid sales and trading teams in their decision making
  • Following on from prototyping opportunities exist to lead implementation teams in the creation of robust batch and real-time analytics engines
  • Candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience that they have taken projects from ideas through to production
  • Project scope includes automation of IOIs and trade adverts, pre & post trade analytics, electronic merchandising & algo trading
  • Demonstrable experience of analyzing market impact for portfolio based trading and risk mgmt, P&L attribution and execution venue trading cost
  • Familiar with FINRA regulations for best execution, price improvement and the production of analysis & metrics to measure the firms opportunity in this area
  • Detailed knowledge and experience building IT platforms that analyze EQ market liquidity, trade execution efficiency, price discovery and other market microstructure nuances

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 4+ years of securities industry experience
  • 7+ years of statistical modeling experience
  • 7+ years of Agile experience
  • 9 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Microsoft Visio experience
  • 10+ years of SharePoint experience
  • 10+ years of consultative business analysis experience
