Job Description

Join Wells Capital Management as a senior Business Systems Consultant focusing on the needs of our Fixed Income Investment Management, Settlement and Trade Compliance teams focusing on portfolio management technology platforms, trading/trade support technology platforms, projects and escalated support.

In this role, you will be responsible for working directly with key business clients to gather requirements, understand workflows, determine needs, and partner with development staff to accomplish critical deliverables, enhance workflows and continuously improve the overall client experience while safeguarding Wells Fargo Enterprise technology standards for applications are adhered to.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interact proactively and regularly with business professionals to understand the technology needs of the firm's Inveestment Management, Settlement and Trade Compliance teams.
  • Provide effective and responsive technical support for all related business functions.
  • Proactively work to understand the business and needs of the client base, including how it relates to the workflows and systems used to support our clients.
  • Work openly and collaboratively with a team of highly effective, driven business analysts to provide clients with the best possible support and project implementation experience.
  • Take full ownership over support and project tasks, working to completion despite obstacles or competing priorities.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement without being asked, and take pride and personal ownership in the teams mission and the overall client experience you will provide.
  • Break down complex, high-level business requirements into a logical process and translate into an implementable solution.
  • Leverage gained environmental knowledge to propose solutions to business problems that others may not think of, resulting in greater efficiency and effectiveness for our clients.
  • Understand how to develop and apply a testing strategy to all requirements you generate that will ensure the right questions are being asked vs. checking a box for a specifically documented requirement.
  • Remain flexible to dynamic priority setting when required, especially as it relates to an ever changing business landscape, and maintain focus on the goal of customer service throughout.
  • Demonstrate an attitude of collaboration, teamwork and above all, customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze investment/business-related problems and quickly and independently translate those problems into Business Requirements. In addition, their experience will include having good knowledge of fixed income investment workflows relating to trading and trade settlement as well as an understanding of the technologies that typically support these workflows. An understanding of the SDLC as a way to manage and document technology applications will be expected. Overall, candidates should have strong communication skills (both verbal and written), be strong team players, and be able to work independently within the framework of a goal-oriented environment.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant business and/or technology experience in the investment industry (buy or sell side, buy side preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle complex work while remaining focused in a fast paced environment
  • Good project management traits and ability to lead and oversee small to medium-sized initiatives
  • Previous experience directly supporting and interacting with business clients in the investment industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • 3 or more years of hands on experience with Bloomberg AIM
  • Experience supporting Fixed Income Investments Management, Trade Operations and/or Trade Compliance functions is highly preferred with a strong preference of a solid understanding of fixed income investment decision and trade work flows, trade settlement, trade compliance and associated technology applications with these workstreams.
  • Advanced database skills with performance tuning and troubleshooting ability is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis via SQL and working in databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Ability to occasionally travel
