The Business Systems Consultant (BSC) will support Retail Lending Technology Sales space within Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) in our Consumer Lending Technology Group. This team provides end to end system development, integration and production support for Consumer Credit. The BSC selected for this role will serve as a liaison between both business and technology partners by planning, coordinating and leading the analysis of highly complex business project problems to be solved with technology solutions.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems
  • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements
  • Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend

  • Prepares specifications for system changes
  • Recommends and initiates systems testing
  • Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies
  • Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff

This opportunity is only available in Concord and San Francisco, CA and is not available for relocation assistance. Team members must either be in the target locations specified or be willing to move at their own expense.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of Web Services experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to act as a liaison between the technical design staff and business requester to ensure all requirements are met
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Technology Project Methodology (TPM)
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: creation of detailed design and technical artifacts
  • Experience developing and managing client relationships
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in business or technology, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience with USE CASE documentation to ensure alignment with associated business requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with creating project documentation such as data mapping for complex multi-tier system interfaces, message specifications, interfacing diagram and application workflow
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively guide and mentor junior BSCs
  • High comfort level in learning new systems and interfaces in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience to evaluate test scripts to ensure alignment with associated business requirements
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify business improvement opportunities and drive completion of tasks, projects and initiatives
