Job Description

The Enterprise Market Risk Technology (EMRT) department provides world class business solutions to support Corporate Risk teams. EMRT works with its business partners in identification, measurement, aggregation and reporting of Risk across the firm.

This position is for the Model Risk System and Technology Team. The Model Risk System is the Corporate Inventory Record for the Quantitative Tool or Methodology (QTM). Team members work on building new components for the system and also enhancing existing components in the system. They will help build and support workflows and processes for full model lifecycle.

This person will be responsible for the creation of business requirement documents, rapid analysis/wire framing/prototyping, and functional design documents for the user interfaces supporting the MORS application. The person in this role will require excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and past experience leading requirements gathering sessions, creating detailed wireframes and creating functional designs including workflows.

The person will work with Technology, Quality Assurance (QA) and Support leads within EMRT to deliver the solutions necessary.

The role will involve the following:

Analysis & Rollout:

  • The team member will act as a lead & SME between EMRT and the Corporate Model Risk Management area by planning, conducting and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems;
  • The team member will provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements;
  • The team member will ensure the effective rollout of new functionality to Corporate Model Risk System.

Documentation & Project Management:

  • The team member will partner with Corporate Model Risk team to produce necessary documentation, including business requirement documents, test plans & release documents.
  • The team member will coordinate activities within the EMRT development teams to ensure that appropriate resources are employed and that delivery timelines will be met.


  • When problems are identified by the Corporate Model Risk team or the EMRT Support team, the team member will use skills and knowledge to resolve issues.


  • The team member will assist the EMRT development and QA teams to ensure effective testing.

The work location is Charlotte, NC. Preference will be given to those candidates that either currently live in or are willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC with limited to no relocation assistance.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both
  • 7+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements
  • 7 + years of experience gathering business requirements from various sources including end-users and stakeholders
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 1+ year of JIRA experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Solid critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • A BS/BA degree or higher

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Model Risk measurement and framework
  • Demonstratable knowledge of technology solutions, combined with capital markets & investment banking domain knowledge;
  • Knowledge of at least one risk discipline (e.g. Model, Counterparty Credit, Market, Issuer, etc);
  • Ability to communicate across business and technology groups;
  • Ability to lead projects to successful conclusion
