Job Description

The Brokerage Technology Group (TOG) is looking for a Business Systems Consultant on the Advisory Products Trading Team. A successful candidate will be an expert on the Charles River platform and be responsible for providing business solutions for Wells Fargo Advisors portfolio management systems. The candidate will act as a liaison between Advisory Operations, Advisory Products, Trading / Middle Office, Mutual Fund Operations, and technology teams by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex problems and strategic solutions. Helps to support Vendor Relationships. Participates in Incident Management Support and Communication. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Applies knowledge of industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position Wells Fargo for the future. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Participates in transforming strategic enterprise architecture and design principles into specific system requirements and specifications. Recommends and initiates systems testing. Acts as the highest-level internal consultant within technology and business groups by re-engineering technical processes for greater efficiencies with significant impact to the business. Directs and serves as a mentor to less experienced staff.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience writing Business Requirements Documents (BRD's)
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships for products or services including: contract negotiation, oversight, and SLA management
  • Knowledge and understanding of portfolio management
  • Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Charles River Platform (specifically Portfolio Management and Trading)
  • Knowledge of and experience in Brokerage, Wealth Management, and/or Portfolio Management (Model, Rebalance and Trading other than Charles River is very beneficial)
  • Significant Knowledge of FIX protocol
  • Ability to write / read SQL queries (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
