This Business Systems Consultant 4 (BSC 4)position will be part of the Internal Process Support (IPS) team within theEnterprise Information Security (EIS) Cyber Security Defense & Monitoring (CSD&M) team. The position supports the ongoing development of the Enterprise Metadata Hub (the Hub) which is used to capture the metadata of EIS applications such that complex data relationships can be understood, managed, and communicated effectively.

The Business Systems Consultant 4 will:

  • Proactively interact with EIS teammates to acquire information security, cyber security, and vulnerability domain knowledge.
  • Interview Cyber Security Defense & Monitoring (CSD&M) teammates to understand core system functionality and how data flows within and between systems. Diagram key data flows.
  • Help build the CSD&M metadata landscape with a focus on the efficient and effective use of data and data assets.
  • Monitor changes to the landscape, communicate relevant issues, and provide insights to the Internal Process Support (IPS) team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze applications and data flows. Determine the appropriate level of documentation required for understanding and validating metadata in the Hub.
  • Validate the results of metadata scans done by the Hub. Work with applicable teams to resolve related issues.
  • Develop effective relationships and act as a liaison between the technical team, Data Governance, and CSD&M to ensure requirements are met.
  • Maintain data lineage manually in situations where auto-scanning by the Hub is not feasible.
  • Interact with the Enterprise Data Analytics team which hosts the Enterprise Metadata Hub. Liaison with project management staff, EIS leadership, and other groups involved in the successful delivery of the Hub.
  • Act as the single point of contact for assigned portions of the Hub development.
  • Document key project information, data flows, and application information using standard Office tools.
  • Interact with business partners/report recipients to understand report requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of reporting, and troubleshoot any data issues.
  • Document and track open items to obtain timely and accurate resolution.
  • Analyze reporting issues related to complex data flows. Develop solution recommendations by utilizing the Hub.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for the growing base of Hub users. Work with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and make necessary changes to related processes.
  • Ensure Hub application changes comply with Enterprise Data Governance Policy and regulatory commitments.
  • Ensure alignment with the enterprise data strategy, line of business strategy, and IT Strategy across a variety of business and technology stakeholders and initiatives.
  • Socialize IPS capabilities and solutions to advance the evolving agenda of the team.

Location:The preferred locations for this job opening are Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZ. However, other locations may be considered for this opportunity.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of information security experience
  • 2+ years of Metadata experience
  • 5+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Financial industry experience
  • Ability to manage initiatives including: detailed planning, process management, and documentation
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Visio skills
  • Process documentation experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of data analysis and/or data design experience with relational databases and/or big data platforms
  • Experience with metadata tools (such as the Ab Initio Metadata Hub product) and governance tools (such as Collibra Data Governance Center)
  • 1+ year of data mapping
  • 3+ years technical writing experience including project documents, business requirements, functional design, user guides, and other communications
  • 2+ years partnering with user groups to resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes
  • 2+ years supporting data related initiatives involving multiple lines of businesses
  • 1+ year delivering presentations or document walk-throughs to an audience of peers or Line of Business Partners
