Job Description

The Broker Training, Reporting and Finance team is a part of Enterprise Information Technology organization supporting the Brokerage Line of Business. The team is made up of Business Systems Analysts and Application System Engineers in the US and India that provide support for thirteen applications as well as provide business enhancements. The applications make extensive use of shared brokerage data to provide a variety of reporting to the Financial Advisors, Branch Managers and Back Office Support Staff and FINRA. This requires that each person on the team has an understanding of the Brokerage Business and the underlying data supporting their applications. Each individual has ownership responsibilities for multiple applications either from a BA or Technical perspective.

This BSC position will own the PCG Management Reporting, WBS Reporting and the FA Info systems. The responsibilities will include meeting with the business partners to understand their application issues and requests. It will also include performing data analysis and business analyst tasks required for support and development of new features and functionality. The BA will need to work closely with the technical staff assigned to the applications to plan and deliver work.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform Data analysis by understanding the applications databases and core brokerage data. Writing SQL statements to query the data (Oracle & DB2).
  • Research and participate in resolution of production issues on assigned applications.
  • Conduct analysis of complex business problems and determine solutions following SDLC Standards.
  • Complete various required deliverables including business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Work closely with the designated technical leads, testing team and data services team to deliver application support and new functionality.
  • Develop relationships with business owners of assigned applications.

Bulk of the team is located in Saint Louis, Missouri. Candidates residing in another location would travel annually to meet with team and business users. Application implementations typically occur on Wednesday and Friday evenings. BSC participation is required during application implementations. BCP testing events are scheduled bi-annually, and occur on the weekend also requiring BSC participation and coordination with business partners.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both
  • 2+ years of Oracle experience
  • 2+ years of SQL experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Systems Development Methodologies
  • Ability to create complex queries
  • Knowledge of the Brokerage Operational Data Store (ODS) and/or Brokerage Data Warehouse (BDW)
  • Ability to interact and liaison with business partners and technical teams
