job summary:

Business Solutions Analyst

OVERVIEW - Under general direction of the Product Manager, the incumbent will provide analysis, consulting and solution engagement services surrounding Business Operations Mobility initiatives. Initial work will focus on leading the run-state solution with opportunities to expand into new initiatives as they arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Captures and analyzes requirements, develops user stories, coordinates the technical approach, engages relevant IT resources, prioritizes epics and user stories, assists with testing efforts, coordinates deployment and support plan

- Manages major releases and minor "hot fixes" for the solution at hand, acting as liaison with internal/external technical teams, vendors, consultants and customers as necessary

- Assists business stakeholders in product roadmap planning

- Assesses impacts of upstream changes and enhancements to downstream solutions by analyzing integration layer data contracts and business rules

- Analyzes application usage and performance metrics and publishes recommendations for stakeholder consumption

- Documents and outlines business processes, application workflows, system components, high-level architectures and integrations points as necessary

- Develops and assists with execution of software application test plans and scripts

- Assists in driving business process redesign and improvement efforts

- Actively participates in defining processes, best practices, tools and standards for the DX/Mobility team

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

- 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, including work as an analyst in developing software applications with multiple real-time and synchronized data integration points

- 2+ years of direct or indirect experience with mobile app development projects

- 2+ years of experience working in an Agile SDLC environment

- Must be able to read and understand various technical frameworks such as XML and REST/JSON along with the creation of data contract definitions in the service of writing functional requirements, analyzing change impacts and troubleshooting

- Working knowledge of standard agile, project management and visual diagramming tools is required

- Experience in hands-on technical tasks such as API/integration testing, writing/running SQL queries, data extraction and advanced Excel capabilities is required

- Familiarity in working with a Transportation Management System (TMS) or within a logistics environment is a plus

- Position requires a 4-year degree in computer science, information systems or related field

SKILLS AND APTITUDES:

- Passion and enthusiasm for mobility and related emerging technologies

- Must operate as an integral part of a team with appropriate transparency and commitment

- Ability to self-direct is essential

- Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written; Able to adjust and meet communication requirements depending on the audience and situation

- Natural inclination towards good customer service including proactive engagement, "can-do" attitude and diligence in engagement and follow-up

- Strong organizational skills with natural attention to detail

- Intellectually curious, yet practical and focused;

- Ability to reconcile conflicting objectives, finding acceptable compromises within given constraints

- Comfortable working in a fluid, nimble, agile-based environment
