Wells Fargo Gateway is a new Banking as a Service API Channel that supports new Business to Business opportunities. We are a start-up in Wells Fargo and were looking for experienced Engineers to continue to move this new group towards maturity. This new group within Wells Fargo is using the latest OpenStack and open-source software tools and practices to deliver APIs to market quickly.

The incumbent will work within Wells Fargo Wholesale Core Services technology with the API development squads and platform teams, product owners, scrum masters, and with other technology centers of excellence. The Release Coordinator is responsible for organizing and communicating software releases from end to end.

The Release Manager will:

  • Establish a release inventory that includes projects, maintenance requests, and production defects in the release
  • Facilitate weekly release status meetings for communication between project managers, quality assurance, development, configuration management, and operations
  • Consult with stakeholders and partners, keep them informed and report on release milestone dates, as well as various statuses of defects and enhancements in each release
  • Set and manage client expectations by escalating issues, changes and exceptions, when appropriate
  • Drive task completion to meet release milestones in order to minimize risk.
  • Identify release risks, manage the tasks necessary to mitigate each risk and facilitate issue resolution
  • Maintain accurate records and artifacts for the entire release from release kickoff through release deployment, including a final root cause analysis and lessons learned for any issues identified during the release cycle
  • Communicate effectively with business and technical teams, across all levels of management
  • Work directly with senior management as the high-level expert on release content and issues
  • Lead and act with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Multitask in a fast paced environment

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 4+ years of technology project management, readiness and/or coordination experience with large projects and programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing a standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) approach with scheduled release code deployments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and/or releases
  • Demonstrated Risk Analysis and Management skills
  • Experience with Configuration Management or Change Control Experience
  • Experience with other software development methodologies (Waterfall, RUP, Agile, etc)
  • Experience developing reports and metrics
  • Experience creating milestones and release calendars
  • Experience creating presentations for senior levels of management
