Technology Operational Process & Data Management (TOPDM)

As part of the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) group, TOPDMs mission is to ensure IT operations effectiveness by

  • Supporting process and service maturity through consistent operational data governance, frameworks, practices, tools, methodologies, reports, metrics, measurements, analysis and usage of all operational data required to run the business of technology.
  • Providing insight across WFs technology operations portfolio including 1.3M active assets, 13 asset classes, 4600 applications, 400+ SOOs/SORs/Tools, and 10k products.
  • Leveraging a shared data model, with Center of Excellences (CoEs) aligned to critical strategic programs/initiatives requiring significant expertise and agility to meet regulatory, leadership and operational requirements.

The Position

The new senior Business Enablement leadership position will focus on delivering business insights to EITs leadership to enable EIT to run as a data-driven business, resulting in better business outcomes aligned with organizational, leadership and regulatory goals and requirements. The leader will drive the development of operational-level insights through across a matrixed organization through

The leader will be accountable to collaborate with business partners with direct responsibility for relationship management, portfolio management, request/fulfilment management (including prioritization and fulfillment leveraging an Agile Development Model) and requirements management (including PDD, BRD, and FSD development related to data sourcing, data integration, metrics and curated views) in alignment with EIT business objectives and operational requirements, including the delivery of data and key metrics supporting Strategic Planning, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Transparency, Workforce Management and Performance Optimization.

The leader will

  • Lead a dedicated team responsible for driving the vetting, planning, execution and tracking of initiatives leveraging an Agile Squad approach to delivery.
  • Matrix manages the delivery of approved requests/projects/initiatives, from requirements to QA to production implementation.
  • Ensure requests are managed consistently, following the same processes, rigor and discipline across all aspects of request fulfillment including business cases, methodologies, tools, post implementation reviews, SDLC requirements, etc.
  • Ensure transparency across the entire portfolio, include new request triage/prioritization, in-flight monitoring and reporting, and operational oversight and lifecycle management of supported metrics, reports, dashboards, and curated views.
  • Represent TODS/TOPDM leadership on strategic initiatives, providing SME expertise related to data driven solutions.

In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate effectiveness in building high performing teams focused on driving business results through leadership effectiveness and team member engagement; contributing to the broad EIT strategy with a One Wells Fargo lens by living the vision and values of Wells Fargo.

This collaborative leader must be capable of initiating action and managing change. The role demands a persuasive, effective communicator who can position this shared services team as an indispensable business partner. It requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment.

The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of analytics experience
  • 5+ years of experience coaching and developing a team
  • 6+ years of experience using data and analytics to inform and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • 5+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts
  • 12+ years of technology infrastructure experience, non-development technology experience, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of management experience in technology

  • Compliance and regulatory systems experience
  • Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Expertise (e.g., Subject Matter Expertise) and/or advanced educational degrees in mathematics, statistics, data science, data analytics, modeling, predictive analytics, etc.
  • Understanding of technology operational lifecycle from inception to provisioning to support to retirement.
  • Background in developing operational metrics frameworks (e.g., control charts, boundaries, etc.) and implementation plans.
  • Experience delivering executive-level business insights to help drive enterprise decisions.
  • Expertise in advanced data modeling, database (e.g., Oracle, Hadoop, SQL) and BI tools (e.g., SAS, Micro Strategies, Tableau, Cognos, Microsoft BI Suite, etc.).
  • Background working on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of both tangible and intangible factors.
  • Strong working knowledge of technology practices, including lifecycle management and technology risk mitigation techniques.
  • An analytical aptitude with the ability to apply critical judgment.
  • Must be comfortable communicating up and down within the organization including demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses and insights into relevant business discussions with diverse groups.
  • Improved data quality and accuracy to drive decision-making.
  • Strategic resolution of data challenges.
  • 8+ years of SDLC experience (including Release and Change/Problem Management)
  • Agile Development Expertise
  • PMP Certification
