The Development Business Analyst's primary function is to serve as a single, consistent point-of-contact for software development and product releases. This position will work with our internal and external business customers as well as 3rd Party vendors. The analyst will coordinate with internal team members such as IT management, software engineers, quality assurance analysts, operations directors and managers, and project managers on product development and support issues. The analyst will act as project manager for some projects including, but not limited to, gathering and documenting business requirements for technical tasks and projects; evaluating business challenges and recommending solutions; interpreting 3rd Party vendor system requirements and specifications.


The Business Analyst will be required to perform administrative tasks in support of the team such as processing and tracking projects, providing agile requirements and overseeing product deployment throughout the Pilot, Beta and General release phases of the SDLC.


The analyst handles day-to-day management of internal and external customer questions and needs and will participate in meetings, respond to questions and issues, document policy, procedures and meeting minutes, and serve as the primary contact to the IT-Development staff. This requires the analyst to be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and able to effectively multitask.


The Analyst will be required to play the Product Owner role in our Agile development process by grooming the product backlog, participating in agile sprint planning, product demos and retrospective meetings.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Manages the flow of questions and feedback during the development, testing, and production phases of software solutions.
  • Creates and manages project tasks lists.
  • Develop and execute product release plans
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
  • Develop agile requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.


REQUIREMENTS:


"Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or an Information Technology field


Experience and Skills:



  • Minimum three years of experience as an IT business analyst.
  • Competency in technical requirements documentation and use case writing.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively correspond with both business and technical staff and translate needs accordingly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Skilled in project management methodologies.
  • Customer service oriented
  • Heavy analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow complex instructions
  • Ability to learn internal business process and translate that information into written requirements for the development teams
  • Experience with MS Project for documentation is highly desire


Any of the following skills would be a plus:



  • Experience with TFS
  • Experience working in emergency (ambulance) or non-emergency (MTM, access to care) medical transportation industry
  • Medical/Healthcare industry experience (familiarity with PHI or HIPPA)"
