Applies business and technical knowledge in determining end-to-end design requirements for projects involving line of business. Works closely with business partners to determine requirements and develop functional designs based on the analysis of line of business needs, objectives and existing systems infrastructure. Drives and participates in design, development and implementation of applications, often using new technologies. Works closely with developers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans/scripts serve customer needs. Perform tests and work on remediation of issues.


Strong consideration given to candidates that can demonstrate a high proficiency in building eye popping dynamic dashboards in Tableau.


Responsibilities:


- Analyze business requirements to understand the business need and to determine how application changes can best fulfill those needs


- Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built to create a functional design for a given application


- Identify, assess, and document business requirements, recommending business priorities, and advising the business on options, risks, and costs


- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and to analyze the various tradeoffs in designing a proper solution


- Document functional designs and provide input to software development team on new functionality; provide human factor and usable recommendations for software/web applications


- Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible


- Analyze impact of proposed solution across the business and develop use cases to demonstrate the business requirements to the Development team


- Ensure that the requirements/documentation can be easily translated into test plans


- Create test scenarios and execute tests on software (as needed) to confirm fixes and/or new application functionality


- Work with the Business Unit to develop user acceptance test scripts, and establish key performance indicators. Prepare training material and user manuals in cooperation with the Business Unit and Marketing.


- Work directly with business users to troubleshoot and resolve issues with the business software (as needed)


- Escalate to and work with internal software engineering team to resolve complex support issues


- Contribute to knowledgebase articles to address frequently asked questions and best practices for loan origination our other reverse mortgage business applications


Qualifications


- Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field such as Engineering, Math, Physics, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or Information Technology


- Minimum of 5-7 years of BA experience


- Must have experience participating in web application development and/or BI solution implementations and the ability to discuss your experiences in detail


- At least three years' experience working with in the finance industry, preferably with mortgage or compliance risk related functions


- Expertise at gathering and documenting business process and policy requirements


- Strong background in developing use cases, process diagrams, traceability matrices, functional requirements and other business materials common to an information systems project


- Proven understanding of architectural design concepts including 3NF and dimensional database applications


- Strong SQL skills. Experience writing scripts.


- Proven ability to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and vice versa. The ability to clearly convey information and adjust the communication style to the intended audience is critical


- Working knowledge and application of project management methodologies


- At least five years' experience using tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio and Excel in documenting requirements and functional specifications


- Formal certification in BA such as IIBA, CCBA, CBAP or PMI-PBA a plus.
