As a Business Intelligence and Data Analyst, you will use data to inform real estate and workplace service business decisions across the globe. Our team's mission is to make data accessible so Google can make better real estate and workplace decisions. You will take a leadership role in providing visibility on key metrics, performance, and opportunities for scale and growth in building outstanding workplaces around the world. You will work closely with Corporate Engineering teams to shape and develop REWS' data architecture, determining how to best structure and visualize key data. You will craft scalable solutions to automate delivering relevant data to manage our real estate portfolio. You will also have the creativity and drive to build your own prototype solutions and to provide training and guidance to team members and partners. You are naturally curious and you enjoy diving into data to both ask and answer big questions about service performance, real estate utilization and overall planning, for example: predicting impact on team commute times based on office relocations and employee addresses. You should be a self-starter with good knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and approaches. You can "crunch the numbers" one minute, and critically think through business problems and communicate to stakeholders the next.


Perform large scale data analysis and modeling to identify trends and efficiency opportunities using SQL. Plan, design and track pilot initiatives and impacts. Drive efficiencies into the business tracking and monitoring progress. Analyze work pipeline and workflow. Implement scheduling to optimize throughput and efficiency across multiple languages. Increase effectiveness of staff and tools by recognizing opportunities for development and proactively creating new systems and structures. Work with operations and engineering to develop and define new or improved tools. Track key performance metrics across the team.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities

- Work closely with teams to understand their information needs, responding to ad hoc data requests and feature requests to BI tools. Manage intake of requests to the BI team

- Create dashboards, visualizations, and analyses that surface insights and drive key business decisions

- Work closely with BI team to help streamline data architecture and curate data tables; track workflows and pipelines and troubleshoot as needed

Additional responsibilities

- Teach courses on data visualization and data techniques

Required Skills:

- 4-6 years of relevant work experience including extensive database experience with SQL, query optimization and operating with data schemas.

- Proven familiarity with data mining, analysis, and visualization; experience manipulating and curating large, complex data from a variety of systems;

- Outstanding communication skills and interpersonal skills

- Experience working with multiple stakeholders while managing scope effectively in a fast moving environment

- Working knowledge of gsuite (ideal) or MS Office

Nice to have:

- BS/BA Quantitative focus

- Basic understanding of ETL processes

- Experience with Tableau and/or GIS

- Apps Script
